The Tribe of Nastil
Accent: Agony
Primary Eye: Arcanorum
Qualifier: “Follower of Nastil”
"The Riotous One calls us to cast down the chains of our supposed saviors: where we were once bound in chains of iron, now we succumb to the chains of the mind.
No more: we rebuke those who would subvert our free will, our minds, and our spirits. Let none tread upon the Tribe, and those that would dare shall taste the blood of their severed tongues that they might lie no more.
The sun claims providence over all the sky, but the night always falls, erasing sight, leaving the huddled to fend for themselves… and where there is no light, there is always the night, the freedom to do as we will, and so we shall take it."
~ Bhola, Nastil Priest
Note: If you purchased one or more abilities in this Religion, and you knowingly break one of the tenets of the Religion, you will have all powers granted by this religion revoked until the end of the event (or longer), and may be subject to a redemption or atonement quest to regain these powers, subject to the discretion of the Plot Team.
Nastil is not spoken of well in polite society. The Riotous One is anathema to kingdoms, cities, and even palatial estates. Scythe-Heart reaches out and empowers those who are disenfranchised, marginalized, and oppressed. Power flows to those looking to tear down established orders, and topple reigning monarchs, which is of little use to those enjoying their seats of power and influence.
Offerings to Nastil are appropriate when your progress is being opposed, change is required, and the peace of Olfrin and Voxus will not sway your opponent’s hearts.
It is believed that Nastil favors survivors. Small communities and tribes who collectively add to the whole are blessed by “They That Usher The Final Path”, as each one contributes to the progress of themselves and those around them. When one attempts to rise above, lifted on the shoulders of others who touch the earth and mold iron, Nastil’s vengeance stokes hotter than molten erupting from the earth.
All adherents of this religion gain the Qualifier: Follower of [Religion Name]. This means that the character will become targets of effects with that qualifier for as long as they maintain devotion to this religion. These effects will be both positive and negative, so be sure to be aware of the Calls being made around you.
For Example: Toric, devoted to [Religion Name] is fighting on the line during an incursion of undead. Behind them is a cleric of his order, Killian. Killian prays to their shared god and receives a boon in the form of “By My Voice, Heal 5 to Follower of [Religion Name] by Radiance”. Toric heard this call, and is devoted to the religion, and so is healed. Meanwhile, Toric’s line companion, Juris, is not a member of the church, but heard the call. They, however, not being a devotee, are not affected by the call.
Elsewhere, the undead invasion is not without its necromancer, Yorric. Yorric likewise calls out to their deity, and casts that maleficent gaze upon his foes: “By My Voice, Wounding 4 to Follower of [Religion Name] By Malice”. As before, Toric, (and his cleric friend) are affected by this call, but his linemate Juris is not.
Whenever this character receives healing from the Agony Accent, they may Cure one Condition.
Whenever this character uses a power with the [Radiance] Accent they may substitute that Accent for Agony. This is an at-will ability.
The character must have purchased all the Basic Powers of this religion to buy these powers.
Prerequisite: One Adept Spell or Advanced Power
“The Body may be bound in ropes and chains, easily freed, but the Mind is not so easily released: the thoughts of the oppressed circle like a whirlpool, reinforcing their own imprisonment. Only through forceful action, through pain, can they be freed. Many will recoil from change and uncertainty, but you must be the herald of what’s to come: unfettered sight into the world as it is, and not the illusion that governs most.”
Name: Awaken [Devotion] [Adept] Incantation: “I call upon the Scythe Heart's will, may their voice guide me. Awaken; cast aside your chains: your mind is set free.” Call: “[Name or Description] Dispel [Charm/Dominate/Berserk] by Agony” Target: Other Individual Duration: Instantaneous Delivery: Verbal Refresh: Spell Accent: Agony Effect: Dispel Through the passionate voice of the true believer, the words of the divine can flow, unbinding the minds of those whose free will has been suppressed. With a short incantation and prayer to the Breaker of Chains, the Tribesman may call “[Name or Description] Dispel [Charm/Dominate/Berserk] by Agony” upon a single target they can see. If this spell appears to successfully Dispel one of the listed conditions, the caster may Refresh a Spike. The first time this spell is cast each long rest it will not consume a spell slot. |

“Unbind the slave, cast off the chains of the oppressed from within and without. Freedom from the will of others, to do as we please, unbounded by the curse of law, order, and oppression, all one and the same before the eyes of The Ungilted.”
Name: Unshackle [Devotion] Incantation: Q30 RP - A short prayer to Nastil Call: Dispel [Root, Slow, Bind] by Will Target: Other Individual Duration: Instantaneous Delivery: Touch Refresh: Focus Quick 100 Accent: Will Effect: Dispel Seeing their brothers and sisters, Tribesmen now or in the future, bound to the wills of others infuriates the Tribe. They know well the lures of the oppressive, and will cast off the chains of others, ready or not to see the world for what it is. Focusing inward, they may call upon their divine connection to free the others of the burdens placed upon them. With but a prayer and a touch, they may call to the Ungilted to free another. If this Power appears to successfully Dispel one of the listed conditions, the user may Refresh a Spike. |
