- The counselors are in classrooms today and will not be available for office visits.
- Reminder that all entries for the BV Optimist Club's essay scholarship contest are due to Mr. Risty in room 166 by the end of the day Thursday, February 12.
- Quiz Bowl students traveling to Madison today => please meet at the doors by the main office at 2:30. We'll return to school at approximately 9:00 pm. See Mr. White if you have any questions.
- ACT Workshop Session 3 and 4 participants - ACT workshop begins this week. Location: Room 104 (Saturday School, Mrs. Waysman's room). Session 3- Tuesday 2/10 6-8:30pm. Session 4 Wednesday 2/11 6-6:30pm. Please bring- Computer, calculator and pencil. Forgot to sign up?- There are still spots open in Session 3. https://bv.revtrak.net/
- Math NHS Members => please consider donating some time during February to tutor at the Middle School. Tutoring happens Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school until 4:15 pm. Please see Mr. White or use the link from your school email to sign up. Mrs. Kirkeby in the MS library is the contact person for tutoring. Thanks for considering it.
- Two concessions workers are needed for the girls wrestling tournament February 12. The report time is 4:30. Sophomores, juniors, or seniors, please email jeanie.bruggeman@k12.sd.us before this Friday if you can work. One shift equals free prom tickets (one for junior year and one for senior year).
- Best Buddies Popcorn Party will be on Tuesday, February 10th in Room #175. After popcorn, we will head to the 7:00 PM BV Boys Basketball game and cheer on Special Olympics at halftime!
- Inclusion Day is Wednesday, March 4th, and shirts are now available to order! Orders are due by Thursday, February 12th at noon. - Registration for the Brandon Valley HIgh School trap team is now open. See details on Brandon Valley Trap Team Facebook page or go to SD Clay Target League, team registration code: bry992. Registration is only open to eligible students enrolled in the BV school district.
- New job opportunities have been added to our electronic postings - including Dog Days of Sioux Falls. See in the “Electronic Postings” link in the table at the bottom of these announcements.
- FFA will meet on Wednesday, 2/11. We will be planning for FFA week, all are welcome! Room 138, 7:30 AM.
- Camp Invention at Inspiration Elementary is looking for High School Leadership volunteers this summer from June 8-12. If you are interested contact Teri Huska at Teri.Huska@k12.sd.us
- BV Football Interns Wanted for Fall 2026! ROLES for each Intern, 90+ hours each: ✅film varsity games ✅film practices, upload to Hudl ✅prepare, distribute water, ice, reports ✅arrange nutrition inventory, offerings ✅set up dummies, cones, footballs ✅organize indoor/outdoor storage ✅collect, enter game statistics. - BV SPORTS PARTICIPATION: Parents must complete BOUND registration for each sport before their student/s can begin tryouts/practice for that sport – and registration involves more than just a physical-form upload. Parents can begin by selecting Registration from the top/main menu of the following page: https://www.gobound.com/sd/schools/brandonvalley Select Registration; don’t go into the activity first. (Students cannot try out or begin practice with only the physical form.) Managers, your parents must also complete all of the steps of BOUND manager registration. Again, PARENTS complete BOUND registration. Students do not.
