• The BV Mentoring Program matches a high school student with a middle school, intermediate, or elementary student to help make positive changes in academics and create positive relationships. Mentors may be assigned to work with a specific student or help a teacher with activities in their classroom. If you are interested in volunteering a free period, study hall, or lunch period, follow the link to sign up! • Thank you to all who donated blood at the blood drive! They were great drives - we saw a total of 61 donors and collected a total of 48 units, which will help up to 144 local patients! We appreciate your support of Community Blood Bank, and look forward to the next blood drives in April.
• Homework Helpers Wanted! Do you like helping or supporting others? Volunteer to support other high school students and earn volunteer hours. We appreciate help in any/all subject areas!  Please complete this Google Form. Ms. Murtha will connect with students on Friday, January 30th, by email.
• Juniors, there are concessions openings on January 29 and multiple dates in February (3, 10, 12, 17, 20, 21, and 27).  Please sign up by seeing Jeanie in the office or by using the sign-up link you received by email last week.
• Seniors: Reminder that the Build Dakota Scholarship application opened on Jan. 1 and will close on March 31st.  If you are headed to one of the SD Technical Colleges in the fall and your program qualifies for the scholarship, start working on your application now!   https://www.builddakotascholarships.com/  See your counselor with any questions.
• ACT PREP Workshops: Session 3: Feb. 10, 17, 23, March 2, 9, 16; Session 4: Feb. 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18; Time: Evenings, 6:00–8/8:30 PM, Room 104, Cost: $125 Register at: https://bv.revtrak.net/
• Following is the link for the BV Athletic Scholarship for this year.  Entries are due by March 16. 2026 BV Athletic Scholarship Please use only this Google form. The application is no longer in paper format.
• Juniors and seniors interested in the military or interested in exploring careers (military and non-military careers) are encouraged to sign up to take the ASVAB. The ASVAB is on Wednesday, February 4 starting at 8:05 AM in the community room. When a student is done testing, they are expected to get a pass from the office and return to class. They will also be exempt 7th & 8th period that day to receive their score and go through the career interest inventory with SFC Kocer with the SD Army National Guard. Students who do not attend will be able to pick up their scores the next day in the office. The ASVAB is FREE. You can register using your k12 email by clicking here.
• Seniors - The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation scholarship opportunities are now available!  There is a link to these opportunities on the counselor website under financial aid/scholarships (click on logo) or you can find their scholarship options here: https://www.sfacf.org/grants-scholarships/scholarships

• BV SPORTS PARTICIPATION: Parents must complete BOUND registration for each sport before their student/s can begin tryouts/practice for that sport – and registration involves more than just a physical-form upload. Parents can begin by selecting Registration from the top/main menu of the following page: https://www.gobound.com/sd/schools/brandonvalley  Select Registration; don’t go into the activity first. (Students cannot try out or begin practice with only the physical form.) Managers, your parents must also complete all of the steps of BOUND manager registration; those steps include everything except the physical-form upload. Again, PARENTS complete BOUND registration. Students do not.
