Please note:
· Buses operating to Khawaneej, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Mall & Business Bay are subject to demand. If the required minimum is not met, the school will be unable to provide a service to those areas.
· A cancellation fee of AED300 will be applied if apparent wishes to cancel the bus service during the school Academic Year 2017-18. (The Cancellation fee will be waived only for those children whose family are being relocated outside the UAE.)
· When a bank transfer is made, please ensure that all relevant information is added and confirm transfer by email, including the student’s name and year level, to Bijay Saha, Finance Manager, <b.saha@alsalamschool.ae > (cc. Ms. Christy De Vera, c.vera@alsalamschool.ae) or visit the Accounts Office to present the payment confirmation from your bank.
The School Bus- Terms & Conditions:
1. The student must obey the code of conduct for travel on school buses and the directions of the helper and driver.
2. The parents are expected to provide assistance in making the children aware of the importance of traffic safety, how to wait, behave and ride in the school bus.
- Parents/caretakers must ensure that their child is waiting at the pick-up point 5 minutes before pick-up time, they must make appropriate arrangements for their child to be collected from the drop-off point in the afternoon.
- During drop-off, the driver will return the student to the school if there is nobody waiting at the collection point. Parents will then be responsible for collecting them from school.
- Parents/caretakers must notify the coordinator and the driver of any changes to their child’s usual school or travel schedules or their pick-up/drop-off arrangements.
3. Students are not allowed to eat or drink juice or other similar beverages on the bus; however they may drink water.
4. Students must sit on the seat in which they have been assigned. Changing seats is not allowed.
5. Students must fasten their seat belts at all times.
6. The driver will not give out his mobile number. Calls should only be made to the helper or the transport coordinator. “Missed calls” will not be entertained. In case of absence from school for whatever reason the Transport Coordinator / helper must be notified in advance.
7. If the bus is running late, parents can phone the helper. Exact timekeeping cannot be guaranteed due to possible traffic congestion.
8. The school will have full freedom in terms of route planning.
9. Changes in address and telephone numbers should be communicated to the school immediately. However, the school is not obliged to re-route the bus to the new address if such a change would delay/inconvenience the bus.
10. Any changes in the route / timings/ bus number will be communicated by the school to the parents in advance.
11. Parents must inform the school or the transport coordinator if they want to pick-up their child/children by themselves from the school:
- For Nursery & FS parents must inform the school before 11:30 am
- For Grades 1-12 parents must inform the school before 1:00 pm
12. Under no circumstances parents, guardians and other family members are allowed to ride in the bus.
13. Transport may be suspended or withdrawn if:
- A student or parent/caretaker does not comply with the conditions of the transport department.
- The student does not obey the code of conduct for travel on school buses and/or behaves unacceptably.
- Circumstances exist which make it unsafe or impractical for the student to travel on the bus.
- The student is persistently disruptive to other passengers or to the bus driver or aide;
- The student behaves in a way that endangers the safety of other passengers or causes malicious damage;
- The parent/caretaker regularly fails to deliver the student to, or collect the student from, the transport provided;
- The parent/caretaker repeatedly fails to advise the bus driver or helper when the student is not using the bus;

15. An administrative charge of AED 250 will be incurred in the case of a cheque being returned by the bank for whatever reason.
16. An administrative charge of AED 50 will be incurred for holding the cheques instead of depositing it to the bank.
17. Cancellation fee of AED 300 will be applied if a parent wishes to cancel the bus service during the Academic Year 2017-2018 (cancellation fee is waived for those children whose family is being relocated outside UAE)
18. School buses under contract with Al Salam are considered to be an extension of the school system. Consequently, the disciplinary standards set by Al Salam will apply to all vehicle passengers.
19. Terms and Conditions for using the transport service may change without prior notice in order to meet RTA and government rules and regulations as well as keep in line with the school’s policy.
