Enchanting is the art of applying the energies of creation to empower objects. A basic skill of the Enchanter is the ability to reach through the thin, viscous barrier between the planes and retrieve motes, small scraps of the building blocks of all creation. Enchantments can add powerful effects to otherwise mundane items or enhance the properties of special items made by other crafters.
The rarest resources used by Enchanters are Foundation Resources. Foundation Resources are retrieved through small tears in the barriers between the planes while following an Enchanting Formulae. The Foundation Resources can either be immediately used (in Enchanting or other crafting skills) or may be stored for longer periods in Foundation Resource Infusions (see Alchemy).
There are ten types of Foundation Resources:
|
The act of pulling the building blocks of Foundational energy through the Planar Portal is called Drawing. Although no one can Draw without using an Enchanting Formulae to do so, all the Formulae that allow a character to pull Foundation Resources from the Planar Portal work in the following way: The character should reach into the Planar Portal, doing at least one manual stir to help push through the Planar Fabric.
Each Foundation Resource has a different feel, an energy signature that can be read by those who are sensitive to it. By feeling the faces of each block, the character may try to locate the Foundation Resource they are seeking. The Foundation Resource should be pulled out of the primordial sands, and only then can it be visually inspected. The color of the markings on the Foundation Resource Block will give an easy way to determine which Foundation Resource has been drawn.
Once they know which Foundation Resource they have Drawn, the enchanter should replace the Block in the ooze. The power of the Foundation Resource is now held deep within them, called soulholding, to be used quickly or stored for later. If the character leaves the Planar Weir, all soulheld Foundation Resources immediately lose their structure and fade to nothing. Death in and of itself does not release the Foundation Resources, but if the character assumes a Spirit type and leaves the Planar Weir, the resources are lost.
The Foundation Resources may be used in a Formulae, or preserved in a Foundation Resource Infusion (Alchemy), allowing it to survive outside the Planar Weir and to be used by others.
The Formulae in the chapter are those that are commonly known and understood. Anyone with at least the Apprentice Enchanting skill has access to, and can perform, any of the Apprentice Enchanting Formulae as long as they have a Planar Weir available. The plot team and certain specific Roles or Advanced Classes may introduce additional recipes that are not commonly known and must be found through play but those will be uncommon and must be found through play.
Formulae may have the following parts:
Which resources are needed for the enchanting formulae.
This field lists how many things the Formulae will work on.
Lists when the Enchantment will expire after being activated. Activation often occurs when the enchantment is placed. The standard expiration for most enchantments is one year or eight weekend long Events, whichever is longer. “Half Standard” means six months or four weekend long Events, whichever is more. Using an item in an Event which is less than a full weekend (as determined by Staff) will not count towards this number.
Note: Should the base item being enchanted have an expiration, all enchantments placed upon it may not exceed that date - if they would do so, the enchantment duration is truncated to the base item’s expiration.
The most common types are Enchant, Empower, Scribe, and Draw. An Enchanting Formulae imbues an item with a Foundation Resource. An Empower type Formulae strengthens the power of an existing magical effect or object using a variety of resources. A Draw type Formulae is how the Enchanter retrieves Foundation Resources from the Planar Portal. A Scribe type Formulae uses powerful magical inks to scribe scrolls and tomes.
This is the heart of the Formulae, describing how the enchanting occurs. These procedures must take place within a Planar Weir, and must be followed exactly, using the required tools, in order to be successful. The target of the enchantment (item or person) must also be present. If any part of the crafting process is not followed, the process may either be restarted immediately, without penalty, or it can be abandoned, which renders the assembled resources useless. If the crafter takes or deals damage, takes an Effect, leaves the general area of the crafting station, or completes a Rest, this is considered an interruption, and the crafting process must be restarted or abandoned.
While the intricacies of Enchanting and Ritual Magic are well known, and often plied with little fanfare, there are situations in which things can go… very wrong. Either by intent, accident, or circumstance, the Maelstrom of the Tempest seeks to wind its way into the dealings of mortals at every opportunity. Enchanting is notably vulnerable to this influence, as it touches upon the very fabric of reality, a fabric that the beings of the Void would very much like to rend asunder.
This influence is known commonly as Dark Territory, and must be accounted for for each Enchantment which lists the appropriate Dark Territory Entry.
Note: All crafting attempts that include Dark Territory require an appropriate marshal.
The description is the in-game view of the enchantment. It may contain history, flavor text, or even physical descriptions of the enchantment. The description says what the crafting character (rather than the player) knows about the enchantment being made.
The exact rules-based effects of the enchantment.
There are three chants used to both keep time and focus energy while enchanting. These are used in conjunction with a ring of wood, stone, or similar material, with ten notches, sigils, or other carvings. Traditionally in order to keep time, the chant would be recited and each time it was finished, the Enchanter would move their hand down the ring, continuing the chant again.
“Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
"Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light."
"In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Known to invoke great power, the Primal Script is a rarely used, but very powerful set of characters that imbues the objects they are inscribed upon with magical power. The process of inscription, along with the ritualistic actions performed are well known, but the actual reasons as to why the script is necessary, or from whence it derives its power are unclear. The commonly known sigils are presented here for reference (Font File):
Many Enchanted items need attunement or cause attunement. Attunement is to the Item, not the Enchantment. If these Enchantments are put on an item that is already Attuned, the Attunement will remain as it is, to the same person it was Attuned to, and will not require additional Attunement or take up additional Attunement slots.
In each game, there will usually be a designated game space setup as a Planar Weir. This is where characters will craft their enchantments.
The Planar Portal is where the Enchanter Draws power from the Planar Weir.
The Circle of Material Sacrifice is where the enchanter normally sacrifices resources to power their enchantments.
The Circle of Energetic Assignment is where the enchanter takes soulheld energy and places it into objects.
The Circle of Foundational Empowerment is where the enchanter empowers objects with powerful energies.
The Rune Circle is where enchanters use the Primal Script to scribe powerful enchantments and scrolls.
The items that will be there and used in different formulae are the following:
All enchanters have the ability to realign summoned armor. This has to be done at the Circle of Foundational Empowerment within the Planar Weir using Realign Summoned Armor.
Crafting Materials Needed: None
Uses per Batch: N/A
Expiration: Never
Crafting Process:
The Enchanter should use a series of focuses to realign the target’s Summoned Armor for one turn of the hourglass. Such focuses may depend on the Enchanter or the target and may range from wands, sigils drawn on or around the targets, or other enchanting equipment found within the weir.
Description: The Enchanter realigns the weave of the target’s Summoned Armor to revitalize its strength.
Effect: After realigning the Summoned Armor of up to six individuals for one turn of the hourglass, the Enchanter may return a suit of Summoned Armor to its maximum armor points (this is a Mend Effect). Enchanters can always Mend any suit of Summoned Armor to maximum points by spending one turn realigning it. If working on Summoned Armor created by an item they can also Rebuild Summoned Armor that has been previously Dispelled.
Crafting Materials Needed: 3 Harvest, 2 Night Prizes, 1 Base Talisman, 1 Foundation Resource - Spark
Uses per Batch: 1 Blessed Holy Symbol
Expiration: Standard
Type: Empower
Requires Attunement
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Enter the Circle of Sacrifice with the Harvest and Night Prizes. Kneel or sit on the ground. One at a time, take a Harvest and set it on the ground. Using a piece of brass, ring a bell over the Harvest and then recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice. Repeat with each Harvest and then each Night Prize, each time ringing the bell once and reciting the Chant. Discard the expended resources into the Ashbin.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the Base Talisman in both hands and hold aloft, reciting the Chant of Foundational Empowerment six times, each time increasing in volume. Pour the Foundation Resource - Spark over the Talisman. Make sure that the entire Talisman gets covered. Touch the Talisman once with the piece of Brass and recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment once last time loudly. Discard the Foundation Resource - Spark into the Ashbin.
Description: This consecrates a Talisman with Divine power, causing the wielder to be able to heal those who may be injured more easily.
Crafting Materials Needed: 3 Hide, 1 Simple Ink
Uses per Batch: 1 Formulae, Recipe, Schematic
Expiration: Permanent
Type: Scribe
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Sacrifice the Hide in the Circle of Material Sacrifice and infuse it into the parchment. Hold the Hide in hand while sitting cross-legged and speaking the Chant of Material Sacrifice. The expended Hide should be dropped into the Ashbin while its essence is soulheld.
Rune Circle: Take a piece of parchment which is at least 5 1/2” x 8” and make the Chant of Material Sacrifice to release the soulheld Hide-essence into the paper. Then, using the Ink, copy the Formulae, Recipe, or Schematic, and sign your name to the bottom.
Description: The enchanter takes a piece of parchment and uses Simple Ink to replicate an existing Schematic, Recipe, or Formulae that they can reference during the process, consuming the Simple Ink in the process.
Effect: This creates an additional copy of the referenced Formulae, Schematic, or Recipe.
Note: Some Formulae, Schematic, or Recipe may have additional materials required to copy. And some may not be able to be copied at all. If this is the case, those alterations will be notated on the Formulae, Schematic, or Recipe. Any Formulae, Schematic, or Recipe in the rulebook does not need to be copied, as they are considered general knowledge available to all.
Crafting Materials Needed: 2 Bloom, 1 Night Prize, 2 Ingots, 1 Rare Mineral, 2 Hide, 1 Harvest, 1 Wealth, 1 Coin to be enchanted.
Uses per Batch: 1 Coin
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Place a bowl of sand in the center of the Circle and bury a coin in the sand. Place a candle in the precise center of the bowl and light it. While reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice, once per resource, burn the Bloom, Night Prize, Ingots, Rare Mineral, Hide, Harvest and Wealth. Extinguish the candle by turning it over and pressing it into the sand. Place the burned resources into the Ashbin. Take the bowl of sand to the Circle of Foundational Empowerment.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Breathe into the bowl of sand three times, then recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment twenty-five times channeling the energy into the coin.
Description: The enchanter empowers a Coin to either be lucky or unlucky. A person may toss the Coin into a pool of water, wishing upon the desired effect of luck or unluck. It is highly unreliable and the effects cannot be predicted. The effects of luck or unluck will happen sometime in the next 30 days. Farmers will often use these Coins to help influence their crops around Harvest time.
Effect: When empowered, the Coin shall be either aligned with luck or unluck. A character may use this Coin during a BGE to influence it in one way or another. During the BGE, they need to inform plot if they used a Coin and what they wished upon. It in no way guarantees a specific effect. The effect will solely be up to plot.
Crafting Materials Needed: 1 Field Patch Kit, 2 Harvest
Uses per Batch: 1 Enchanted Patch Kit
Expiration: 1 Month
Type: Enchant
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Place the Patch Kit to be enchanted in the center of the Circle of Material Sacrifice, and arrange the Harvest in a line on top of the Patch Kit. Take the Gold and Quartz and line them in a row perpendicular to the harvest on top of the Patch Kit
Then, gather the power of the Harvest, Gold, and Quartz within your spirit, and lift the assembled resources to your heart, and recite the Chat of Material Sacrifice twice. Bring the empowered Patch Kit to the Rune Circle. Discard the expended resources into the Ashbin.
Rune Circle: Bring the Patch Kit to the Rune circle, focusing on magical words of power. Inscribe the word “MYSTIC” onto the Patch Kit in Primal Script, reciting the chant of Energetic Assignment three times as you do so. Finally, place the Enchanted Patch Kit on the ground in the middle of the rune circle and draw a circle with the Lead to purify the last of the enchantment energies.
Description: This is a small kit of materials preassembled to quickly patch up a suit of summoner armor. The kit represents a kit including items such as rune engraved leather strapping, small enchanted metal plates, mystic herbs, and the like. Can quickly be used to patch up a suit of summoned armor.
Crafting Materials Needed: 20 Sharpening Stones, 20 Bloom, 5 Harvest, 1 Rare Minerals, 1 Foundation Resource - Any

Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 2
Total Participants: 2 (3)
Dark Territory Suit: Implements
Dark Territory Required: No
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Bring the Bloom, Harvest and Rare Minerals into the Circle of Sacrifice. Place the Sharpening Stones in a pile in the middle of the circle. Place the Bloom around the Sharpening stones. Sit cross legged on the floor. Take four Bloom in the left hand, one Harvest in the right hand. Repeat the Chant of Sacrifice. Do this five times using up all the Bloom and Harvest. Take the Rare Minerals and pour over a piece of material corresponding to the Foundation Resource that you are using for the enchantment. Deposit the Bloom, Harvest, Rare Minerals and Foundation Resource into the Ashbin.
The Circle of Energetic Assignment: Take the piece of material that corresponds to the type of enchantment that you are performing. Hold a sharpening stone in the left hand, the piece of material in the right. Standing aloft, repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment, once each sharpening stone layering the power over the Sharpening Stones.
Description: A stone made of a fragile material. When a blade is run across the edge it is quickly worn away but not until the object is sharpened. This has the additional effect of being enchanted, based on the Foundation Resource used.
Effect: A character can use a Sharpening Stone to alter their Spike damage on one Spike they use before the next Short Rest, as well as the other effects listed below, based on the Foundation Resource used in the Enchantment.
Note: A stone can only be used on weapons with an edge. Any usage of a Sharpening Stone takes a Quick 100. Once it has been used, it is used up and needs to be discarded. The Sharpening Stone should be represented with some sort of smooth stone.
Crafting Materials Needed: 2 Bloom, 1 Ingots, 2 Rare Mineral, 2 Hide, 1 Foundation Resource - Any
Uses per Batch: 1 Eldritch Source
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1
Total Participants: 1
Dark Territory Suit: Implements
Dark Territory Required: No
Requires Attunement
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Place the vessel to be enchanted in the center of the Circle of Material Sacrifice, and arrange the Bloom, Ingot, and Hide in a circle around the vessel. Then crush and place the Rare Mineral on top of the vessel, allowing the powder to spill over the side. Finally, gather the power of the Foundation Resource within your spirit, and lift the vessel above your head, and recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice three times. Bring the harmonized vessel to the Circle of Foundational Empowerment. Discard the expended resources into the Ashbin.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Holding aloft the harmonized vessel face west, then take a piece of Amber, and crush it with your free hand over the top of the vessel, and recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment.
Next, still holding aloft the harmonized vessel, face east, take a piece of lead, and burnish the vessel with it, and recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment.
Then, still holding aloft the harmonized vessel, face north, take a piece of iron, and burnish the vessel with it, and recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment.
Finally, still holding aloft the harmonized vessel, face south, take a piece of silver, and burnish the vessel with it, and recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment. Then take the synchronized vessel to the Circle of Energetic Assignment.
Circle of Energetic Assignment: Sit down cross legged, and place the vessel in a bowl of sand in front of you. Recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment five times while touching the gold to the vessel. Once that is complete, the next creature with Sourcerer class-levels to hold the vessel outside the Weir will be attuned to it.
Description: The item that is the target of this enchantment is imbued with elemental power, creating an Eldritch Accent able to alter the Sourcerer Spells cast with it depending on the type of Foundation Resource used to perform the enchantment.
Effect: Each item may only be enchanted once. The next creature to hold the Eldritch Source outside the Weir will attune to it and may use it.
Crafting Materials Needed: 1 Rare Mineral, 2 Harvest, 10 Ingots, 1 Foundation Resource - Any
Uses per Batch: 1 Melee or Projectile Weapon
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1(2)
Total Participants: 1(3)
Dark Territory Suit: Arms
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Requires Attunement
Preparation:
Crafting Process:
Step 1: Circle of Material Sacrifice: Approach the circle with the 10 Ingots. Place them around the circle equally while standing in the middle.
Step 2: Recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice ten times, one for each Ingot: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
Step 3: Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Step into the circle, making sure to have access to the candle, sand, water and the target.
Step 4: Temper the target by holding it over a candle while making the Chant of Foundational Empowerment: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 5: Strengthen the target by pouring sand over it while making the Chant of Foundational Empowerment: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 6: Purify the target by pouring water over it while making the Chant of Foundational Empowerment: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 7: Finally, prepare it for change by whispering the Chant of Foundational Empowerment over the weapon: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 8: Take the target to the Circle of Energetic Assignment without letting it touch candle-flame, water, breath, or sand.
Step 9: Circle of Energetic Assignment: Enter the circle with the target. Lay hands upon the target, and make the Chant of Energetic Assignment six times: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.” Chant each time with increased mental pressure, layering the power of the Foundation Resource into the item, releasing the desired Foundation Resource from your soulhold. The weapon is now ready. The primary ritualist must say, “Let the ritual be complete” to end the enchanting process. All resources used should be placed in the nearest ashbin.
The next creature to hold the weapon outside the Weir will attune to it and may use it.
Note: If the implement is unattuned, the enchantment ends.
Description: The weapon is temporarily imbued with the energy of creation, lasting an entire year. The exact effects depend on the type of Foundation Resource used.
Effect: Each item may only be enchanted once.
Crafting Materials Needed: 3 Hide, 1 Simple Ink
Uses per Batch: 1 Scroll
Expiration: Standard
Type: Scribe
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Sacrifice the Hide in the Circle of Material Sacrifice and infuse it into the parchment. Hold the Hide in hand while sitting cross-legged and speaking the Chant of Material Sacrifice. The expended Hide should be dropped into the Ashbin while its essence is soulheld.
Rune Circle: Take a piece of parchment which is at least 5 1/2” x 8” and make the Chant of Material Sacrifice to release the soulheld Hide-essence into the paper. Then, using the Ink, copy an Incantation from a Novice spell from a viewed spellbook onto the parchment. Just below that, write a copy of the Incantation in Primal Script.
Description: The enchanter takes a piece of parchment and uses Simple Ink to scribe a magical scroll based off of a Novice spell in any Spellbook they can reference during the process, consuming the Simple Ink in the process.
Effect: While the scroll is held in one hand (it need not be the only thing in the hand) and the Incantation on it is read aloud three times, the effects of the spell will occur as if produced by a spell-caster of the minimum level required to cast the spell. The effect of the spell cannot be altered from the base casting by any means. Characters with the Enchanting Skill need only read the incantation aloud twice. The reader must have at hand any material components required by the spell, such as Packets, weapons (if weapon-delivered), or the like. While reading, if the character is disturbed in any way that normal spell-casting would be disturbed (see Classes, Powers, and Spells), the spell fails to cast, and the scroll is considered expended. Once the spell is cast, the scroll crumbles to dust, unless it would otherwise be refunded.
Note: Effects that grant the Life Effect, and those that have the Target of Self are not scribable.
Crafting Materials Needed: 5 Bloom, 5 Night Prizes
Uses per Batch: 1 Foundation Resource
Expiration: Lasts until one piece of Foundation Resource has been pulled
Type: Draw
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Sitting cross-legged in the Circle of Material Sacrifice, hold the Bloom in the left hand and the Night Prize in the right. To sacrifice the resources, repeat the Chant of Material Sacrifice three times while holding the resources and then deposit them into the Ashbin. Go to the Planar Portal.
Planar Portal: Ring the bell three times, each time waiting for silence before ringing it again. At that point, draw Foundation Resources from the planar portal (see Drawing procedure at the beginning of the chapter).
Description: The apprentice enchanter focuses their internal energy inward enough to be able to pierce a hole in the Planar Weir. They are able to deftly manipulate the edges of time and space, retrieving a small piece of energy from the ether. The energy must be used quickly or otherwise preserved in a Foundation Resource Infusion.
Effect: The character can Draw from the Planar Portal (see Drawing procedure at the beginning of the Chapter). If they draw a Death Foundation Resource, they must set it aside (they cannot soulhold it) and draw another. If the character draws a “dud” or “blank” resource, they may return that resource back to the Planar Weir once and draw again, but they must take the result of that second pull.
Crafting Materials Needed: 3 Ingots, 2 Rare Minerals, 2 Night Prizes, 1 Foundation Resource - (1 of Aspect, Refuge, or Firmament)
Uses per Batch: 1 Arcane Bracelet
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (2)
Total Participants: 1 (2)
Dark Territory Suit: Gems
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Requires Attunement
Preparation:
Crafting Process:
Step 1: Circle of Material Sacrifice: Enter the circle and while sitting down in the center of the circle, light three candles around you.
Step 2: Take the three Ingots and pass them through one of the candle flames while reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
Step 3: Take the 2 Rare Minerals and pass them through a different one of the candle flames while reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
Step 4: Lastly, take the 2 Night Prizes and pass them through the last candle’s flame while reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
Step 5: Circle of Energetic Assignment: Enter the circle and sit cross-legged. Place the Foundation Resource on the ground before you, then create a triangle around it with the amber, coal, and quartz.
Step 6: Repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment thrice, focusing your attention on the Foundation Resource; after each time you recite the chant, ring the bell: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 7: Pour the Foundation Resource over the material corresponding to the chosen Foundation Resource (amber for Refuge, coal for Firmament, quartz for Aspect), repeating the Chant of Energetic Assignment once more: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 8: Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the target and material corresponding to the chosen Foundation Resource into the circle. Place the target within the center of the circle, then stand aloft before the target, holding the material in both hands.
Step 9: Chant the Chant of Foundational Empowerment twice loudly, and focus the energy of the soulheld Foundation Resource into the target: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 10: After chanting with conviction and vigor, the now magical bracelet will be imbued with protective energies. The bracelet is now ready. The primary ritualist must say, “Let the ritual be complete” to end the enchanting process. All resources used should be placed in the nearest ashbin.
The next creature to hold the target outside the Weir will attune to it and may use it.
Description: Through this process, the enchanter imbues a non-magical bracelet with the ability to create summoned armor. The first person who wears the bracelet outside of the Weir will attune itself to it.
Effect: When worn, this bracelet grants two points of summoned armor. The armor starts off exhausted (at 0 Armor Points) when the bracelet is first put on and the armor must be Mended before it is useful. The bracelet’s Summoned Armor may be mended to full by an Enchanter by spending a Slow 60 roleplaying re-forging the magical armor at the Planar Weir’s circle of Foundational Empowerment.
Crafting Materials Needed: 1 Foundation Resource - Any, 2 Harvest, 2 Night Prize, 2 Rare Mineral
Uses per Batch: 1 Gathering Implement
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1
Total Participants: 1
Dark Territory Suit: Arms
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Requires Attunement
Preparation:
Crafting Process:
Note: This process can only be performed on a gathering implement (sickle/pick/knife).
Step 1: Circle of Material Sacrifice: Sit within the circle cross-legged with a single candle in front of you. Close your eyes, and recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.” Keep the chanting quiet enough that the flame of the candle in front of you is not blown out, repeating the chant three times.
Step 2: Once you have completed the chant, burn the Harvest, Night Prizes and Rare Minerals with the candle.
Step 3: Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the target into the Circle. In addition, bring a piece of the material that corresponds to the Foundation Resource being imbued upon the weapon (such as amber for Refuge).
Step 4: Heat the material over the flame of a candle while reciting the Chant of Foundational Empowerment three times: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 5: Circle of Energetic Assignment: Enter the circle, standing up and facing north. Hold the target in one hand, and hold the material that corresponds to the type of soulheld energy being used in the other.
Step 6: Facing north, call forth the power of magic by reciting the Chant of Energetic Assignment: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.” Focus and channel that energy from yourself into the target.
Step 7: Turn to the east and recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 8: Turn to the south and recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 9: Turn to the west and recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 10: The target is now ready. The primary ritualist must say, “Let the ritual be complete” to end the enchanting process. All resources used should be placed in the nearest ashbin.
The next creature to hold the target outside the Weir will attune to it and may use it.
Note: If the implement is unattuned, the enchantment ends.
Description: The Gathering Implement is temporarily imbued with raw magical energy, powered for a year, allowing small effects depending on the type of Foundation Resource used to perform the enchantment.
Effect: The enchanter takes a piece of Foundation Resource and directly enchants a gathering implement. This will attune the implement to the wielder. Each item may only be enchanted once.
Crafting Materials Needed: Raw Radianite (special material), 1 Foundation Resource - One of [Spark, Power, or Energy]
Uses per Batch: Up to 3 pieces of Glowstone
Expiration: Permanent
Type: Enchant
Crafting Process:
Circle of Energetic Assignment: Sitting cross legged in the circle, repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment thrice, once for each Foundation Resource soulheld. While doing so, hold aloft a piece of brass, Materia, or gold representing the Foundation Resource that are soulheld.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the Radianite and place it within the center of the circle, then stand aloft before the Radianite. Strike a tuning fork against a piece of crystal, focusing the mind to find the exact moment of silence that happens after the tuning fork rings and slowly fade away; it often takes several rings to isolate the exact moment of ringing into silence. Once that moment has been found, clasp both hands together, chanting the Chant of Foundational Empowerment twice loudly, and focusing the energy of the soulheld Foundation Resource into the Radianite. After chanting with conviction and vigor, the Radianite will be transformed into Glowstone. Up to three pieces can be empowered at once.
Description: Glowstone is a strange compound which causes certain items to fluoresce. Glowstone is made from Radianite and then charged with magic. Although Enchanters have discovered the power to turn Radianite into Glowstone, traditionally it has been done by hag covens who seem able to do it in more massive quantities. Many gatherers have long had uneasy alliances with a few of these covens, helping them convert the Radianite into Glowstone for sale or tribute.
The payment for such services is almost always distasteful, but since Glowstone in a so-called Glowstone Concentrator (or just “Concentrator”) is the best way of finding Night Prizes, it is extremely valuable. The raw crystal of Radianite can be found in caves where water once flowed and perhaps had dried up. By itself, Radianite is a dull crystal coming in a variety of colors, muted and cloudy. But enchanters, by channeling raw energy into it, can infuse it with the ability to glow with a faint indigo light. The light, while not impressive by itself, is known to show up exceptionally well when shined upon Night Prizes. Eventually the crystal will fade and need to be empowered again.
Effect: Raw Radianite is an item that needs to be found in-game and players cannot start with it. By using Radianite and this Formulae, a player can rep a UV flashlight to shine UV/Blacklight from it at will. The natural properties of Night Prizes are said to glow under the light.
Crafting Materials Needed: 1 Foundation Resource - Any, 3 Ingots, 3 Harvest, 1 Refined Hyperium
Uses per Batch: 1 small bag of Enchanted Hyperium
Expiration: Permanent
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1
Total Participants: 1
Dark Territory Suit: Implements
Dark Territory Required: No
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Enter the Circle of Material Sacrifice and place the bar of Refined Hyperium in the center, with the six resources equally in a ring around it, alternating between Ingot and Harvest. Recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice thrice, each time walking counterclockwise around the circle, unwinding the magical impurities in the Ingots and Harvest, noting that they wither into dust. Deposit the expanded Ingots and Harvest ash into the Ashbin.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the Purified Hyperium into the Circle of Foundational Empowerment, and strike it twice with the Resonance Fork to verify the harmonics of the crystals within. Quietly recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment twice while infusing the energy of the Foundation Resource into the bar of Purified Hyperium, waiting until the resonance abates. Then strike the bar twice again, and recite the Chant again ensuring the bar has enough resonance to endure heating.
Circle of Energetic Assignment: Take the Resonant Hyperium to the source of heat and let it bask in the flame for once recitation of the Chant of Energetic Assignment. Take care to avoid dropping the Hyperium ingot, as it now contains an exceptional amount of magical power, and is likely to shatter, rendering it worthless. Carefully quench the Resonant Hyperium in the basin of water, and let cool for one recitation of the Chant of Energetic Assignment. Once cooled, the ingot may be crumbled to dust in the hand and the crystals of Enchanted Hyperium pulled out. Discard the slag and ash, and collect the crystals.
Description: One small bag worth of loose iridescent and translucent crystals known as Enchanted Hyperium.
Effect: Enchanted Hyperium is used in the crafting of other, often magical items.

Step 2: Take a piece of crystal and while peering through it, looking at each wrapped bundle, recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice once for each bundle: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
Step 3: Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the target into the Circle. In addition, bring a piece of the material that corresponds to the Foundation Resource being imbued upon the weapon (such as amber for Refuge), and the Foundation Resource itself.
Step 4: Take the tuning fork and strike the target with it until the magical harmonies align. Once you feel that the pitch is right, say the Chant of Foundational Empowerment aloud three times while pouring the Foundation Resource over the material: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.” The first time, chant loudly to wake up the soulheld energy within you. The second time, chant softly, focusing on the material that corresponds with the soulheld energy being used. The third time, chant with confidence, focusing on transferring the energy from you to the material.
Step 5: Circle of Energetic Assignment: Take a basin of water, the target, and the material into the circle.
Step 6: Place one hand into the basin and hold onto the material that corresponds to the enchantment with the other hand.
Step 7: Recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.” Move your hand from the basin to the front of the target. Repeat this process nine times (for a total of ten times) - placing your hand back in the basin before beginning the chant each time - focusing on transferring your energy to the target, letting the basin of water ground your magical energies each time.
Step 8: The shield is now ready. The primary ritualist must say, “Let the ritual be complete” to end the enchanting process. All resources used should be placed in the nearest ashbin.
The next creature to hold the target outside the Weir will attune to it and may use it.
Note: If the shield is unattuned, the enchantment ends.
Description: The shield is temporarily imbued with raw magical energy that is powered for a year, allowing small effects depending on the type of Foundation Resource used to perform the enchantment.
Effect: The enchanter takes a soulheld piece of Foundation Resource and directly enchants a shield. This will attune the shield to the wielder. Each item may only be enchanted once.
Crafting Materials Needed: 1 Foundation Resource - Any, 3 Ingots, 2 Hide, 1 Harvest
Uses per Batch: 3 Throwing Weapons
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (2)
Total Participants: 1 (2)
Dark Territory Suit: Arms
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Requires Attunement (a set of three requires one Attunement Slot)
Preparation:
Crafting Process:
Note: This process can only be performed on a thrown weapon.
Step 1: Circle of Material Sacrifice: Enter the circle with the target, 3 Ingots, 2 Hide, and 1 Harvest. Touch each one to the target while reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice, once for each Ingot: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.”
Step 2: Wrap the Harvest with both of the Hides.
Step 3: Char the outside of the Hide with the candle and rub the charred hide onto each target.
Step 4: Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the target into the Circle. In addition, bring a piece of the material that corresponds to the Foundation Resource being imbued upon the weapon (amber for Refuge, for example).
Step 5: Start the enchantment by ringing a bell and reciting the Chant of Foundational Empowerment three times, each time focusing on the material and the soulheld energy: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 6: Circle of Energetic Assignment: Enter the circle and sit down cross legged, placing the targets in a bowl of sand in front of you.
Step 7: Hold aloft the targets in one hand and the material in the other. Recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment five times while touching the amber to the targets, each time concentrating on transferring the power from the material to the targets: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 8: The throwing weapons are now ready. The primary ritualist must say, “Let the ritual be complete” to end the enchanting process. All resources used should be placed in the nearest ashbin.
The next creature to hold the target outside the Weir will attune to it and may use it.
Note: If the throwing weapon is unattuned, the enchantment ends.
Description: The weapon is temporarily imbued with raw magical energy, powered for a year, allowing small effects depending on the type of Foundation Resource used to perform the enchantment.
Effect: The enchanter takes a soulheld piece of Foundation Resource and directly enchants a throwing weapon. This will attune the throwing weapon to the wielder. An attuned throwing weapon, if lost, will generally re-appear with the character (or close-by, such as at their Hearth or doorstep) at the beginning of the next Long Rest. The item will always have re-appeared in the character’s possession at the beginning of an Event. Each item may only be enchanted once. All three weapons must be wielded or thrown by the attuned user in order to gain the enchanted effects.
Crafting Materials Needed: 5 Bloom, 5 Night Prize
Uses per Batch: 1 Foundation Resource
Expiration: Lasts until the enchanter attempts to draw a Foundation Resource three times or leaves the Weir.
Type: Draw
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Sitting cross-legged in the Circle of Material Sacrifice, hold the Bloom in the left hand and the Night Prize in the right. To sacrifice the Resources, repeat the Chant of Material Sacrifice nine times while holding the Resources and then deposit them into the Ashbin. Go to the Planar Portal.
Planar Portal: Circle the Portal three times, each time ringing the bell. At that point, draw Foundation Resources from the planar portal (see Drawing procedure at the beginning of the chapter). For each draw attempt, circle the Portal three more times, ringing the bell again.
Description: The journeyman enchanter focuses their internal energy inward enough to be able to pierce a hole in the Planar Weir. They are able to deftly manipulate the edges of time and space, retrieving a small piece of energy from the ether. The energy must be used quickly or otherwise preserved in a Foundation Resource Infusion. This Formulae is intended for experienced Enchanters to have a greater chance of getting the specific Foundation Resource they want, at the exchange of added risk of the Death Foundation Resource.
Effect: The character can Draw from the Planar Portal (see Drawing procedure at the beginning of the Chapter) up to three times. Each time, they can choose to keep the Foundation Resource they have chosen and soulhold it, or they may put it back. If they put it back, they can choose again allowing up to three chances at a specific Foundation Resource the enchanter may want. Once they have chosen to soulhold a Foundation Resource, the planar portal closes and they cannot Draw another. If the Enchanter draws a Death Foundation Resource, they will take an immediate Death Final Effect, even if they choose to soulhold the Death Resource.
Note: Soulheld resources are lost when leaving the Planar Weir, even if in Spirit form.

Step 12: Extinguish the candles with the Materia and repeat the chant one final time: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Description: Through this process, the enchanter channels powerful magic into the bracelet, greatly enhancing its protective powers at the cost of the energy imbued, causing the bracelet to glow.
Effect: The enchanter enhances an already enchanted Arcane Bracelet so that it gives one additional summoned armor to its existing summoned armor. It also provides the wearer 1 Counter vs Dispel Summoned Armor once per Short Rest.
Crafting Materials Needed: Foundation Resource - Refuge, 3 Ingots, 3 Hide, 4 Rare Minerals, 2 bags of Enchanted Hyperium
Uses per Batch: 1 Arcane Bracelet
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (2)
Total Participants: 1 (3)

Step 3: While holding the target in one hand and the Enchanted Hyperium in the other, recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice: “Ashes, ashes, smoke at night, grant us sacrificial light.” Watch as the Enchanted Hyperium is absorbed into the bracelet, leaving only inert dust.
Step 4: Circle of Energetic Assignment: Bring the target into the circle and place it on the ground.
Step 5: Sitting cross-legged in the circle, hold a piece of Amber in one hand and Coal in the other. Repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment five times, ringing the bell after each one: “In this time and in this hour, inward I imbue my power.”
Step 6: Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the target and place it within the center of the circle, then stand before the target. Hold the Foundation Resource in one hand, then recite the Chant of Foundational Empowerment five times loudly, focusing the energy of the soulheld Foundation Resource into the bracelet: “Force of magic now ignite; awaken to your inner light.”
Step 7: The now magical bracelet will be imbued with protective energies. The primary ritualist must say, “Let the ritual be complete” to end the enchanting process. All resources used should be placed in the nearest ashbin.
Description: Through this process, the enchanter imbues a non-magical bracelet with the ability to create summoned armor. The first person who wears the bracelet outside of the Weir will attune itself to it.
Effect: When worn, this bracelet grants four points of summoned armor. The armor itself starts off as exhausted when the bracelet is first put on and the armor must be mended before it is useful. The bracelet’s Summoned Armor may be mended to full or recreated if Dispelled by an Enchanter by spending a Slow 60 roleplaying re-forging the magical armor at the Planar Weir’s circle of Foundational Empowerment.

The enchantment will be activated when the tool representing the crafting station is placed on the crafting station it came from and the following is spoken aloud: “I release the power held within.” The individual who first places the enchanted tool upon its associated crafting table may automatically attune to it; others may attune to the crafting station normally using the Attune ritual.
Description: The area is temporarily imbued with the energy of creation, lasting an entire year. The exact effects depend on the type of Foundation Resource used.
Effect: The enchanter empowers a crafting station with one of the benefits outlined below. Each crafting station may only be enchanted once. The crafting station should be obviously marked with a blue card outlining the effects of this enchantment, as well as those who are attuned to that effect.

Someone with the Quill must use ink mixed in with blood in order to activate the magic item. Up to six people’s blood (including the person sending the missive if they wish to read it after they write it) may be included in the ink. The item will allow the player to fold the letter (or enclose it in an envelope) and mark it with the Black Key (Deadlocked) Power Sigil. This enchantment does not take an additional attunement slot beyond the original attunement from a Talisman.
The first creature that holds the Talisman outside the Weir will attune to it.
Description: The enchanter uses raw Foundation Resources along with other materials to empower a Base Talisman, allowing the caster to use another Cantrip.

Description: The weapon is temporarily imbued with the energy of creation, lasting an entire year. The exact effects depend on the type of Foundation Resource used.
Effect: Each item may only be enchanted once, and a weapon enchanted with this process is a Signature Item (no character can ever be attuned to more than one Signature Item at a time); however, a Signature Weapon crafted through Tinkering may be further enchanted with this process once. If a Thrown Weapon is enchanted, a set of three weapon reps may be enchanted together with the same effect and will count as a single attuned item.
Additionally, once per Long Rest the wielder of this weapon may Counter any Power or Effect with the Entropy or Time accents.
Once per Long Rest, the wielder of this weapon may reduce their Maximum Life Points to 1 until their next Short Rest. Their Maximum Life Points may not be increased for any reason while this ability is active. The wielder also gains Base Maximum Spikes equal to the difference between their old Maximum Life Points and their new Maximum Life Points. The wielder may add the Darkness accent to any spike attack they make.
Crafting Materials Needed: 5 Hide, 1 Arcane Ink
Uses per Batch: 1 Scroll
Expiration: Standard
Type: Scribe
Ritualists: 1
Total Participants: 1
Dark Territory Suit: Implements
Dark Territory Required: No
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Take the four Hide and hold them aloft while repeating the Chant of Material Sacrifice two times, imbuing their energy into the parchment. The expended Hide should be dropped into the Ashbin while its essence is soulheld.
Rune Circle: Take a piece of parchment which is at least 5 1/2” x 8” and speak the Chant of Material Sacrifice to release the soulheld Hide-essence into the paper. Then, using the Ink, copy an Incantation from an Adept spell from a visible spellbook onto the parchment. Just below that, write a copy of the Incantation in Primal Script.
Description: The Enchanter takes a piece of parchment and uses Arcane Ink to scribe a magical scroll based off of an Adept spell in any Spellbook they can reference during the process.
Effect: While the scroll is held in one hand (it need not be the only thing in the hand) and the Incantation on it read aloud three times, the effects of the spell will occur as if produced by a spell-caster of the minimum level required to cast the spell. The effect of the spell cannot be altered from the base casting by any means. Enchanters need only read the incantation aloud twice. The reader must have at hand any material components required by the spell, such as Packets, weapons (if weapon-delivered), or the like. While reading, the character can be disturbed in any way that normal spell-casting could be disturbed (see Classes, Powers, and Spells). Once the spell is cast, the scroll crumbles to dust, unless it would otherwise be refunded..
Note: Effects that grant the Life Effect, and those that have the Target of Self are not scribable.
Crafting Materials Needed: 5 Bloom, 5 Night Prize, 3 Hide, 5 Harvest, 3 Ingots, 4 Rare Minerals
Uses per Batch: Up to 3 Foundation Resources
Expiration: Lasts until the enchanter draws 3 pieces of Foundation Resource or leaves the Arcane Weir.
Type: Draw
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Sitting cross-legged in the Circle of Material Sacrifice, hold aloft the resonance fork and ring it once. After it has been silenced, repeat the Chant of Material Sacrifice three times, sacrificing one Resource. Repeat this with the resonance fork for each other Resource. After that is done, deposit the sacrificed Resources into the Ashbin. Go to the Planar Portal.
Planar Portal: Ring the bell three times, each time waiting for silence before ringing it again. At that point, draw Foundation Resources from the planar portal (see Drawing procedure at the beginning of the chapter).
Description: The skilled enchanter focuses their internal energy inward enough to be able to pierce a hole in the Planar Weir. They are able to deftly manipulate the edges of time and space, retrieving small pieces of energy from the ether. The energy must be used quickly or otherwise preserved in a Foundation Resource Infusion. This Formulae is intended for very experienced Enchanters to be able to pull multiple Foundation Resources at a reduced cost.
Effect: The character can Draw from the Planar Portal (see Drawing procedure at the beginning of the Chapter) up to three times. Once they have drawn three Foundation Resources, the planar portal closes and they cannot Draw another. If the Enchanter draws a Death Foundation Resource, they will take an immediate Death Final Effect, even if they choose to soulhold the Death Resource.
Note: Soulheld resources are lost when leaving the Planar Weir, even if in Spirit form.
Crafting Materials Needed: One Mithril Bar, Foundation Resource - Refuge, 6 bags of Enchanted Hyperium
Uses per Batch: 1 Arcane Bracelet
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (3)
Total Participants: 1 (3)
Dark Territory Suit: Implements
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Requires Attunement
Requires Signature Attunement
Crafting Process:
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Enter the circle and while sitting down in the center of the circle, light six candles around you. For each Hyperium, pass it over the flame of a different candle, reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice once. Take a tuning fork and strike it upon the Mithril Bar thrice, each time letting silence come over the circle before striking it again. Recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice one last time, and watch as the resources fall to dust. Deposit the dust in the Ashbin.
Circle of Energetic Assignment: Sitting cross-legged in the circle, repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment five times, holding a piece of Amber in one hand, and Coal in the other. After each time you recite the chant, stand aloft and ring the bell.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the bracelet and place it within the center of the circle. Sit before it and starting with a soft voice, start Chanting the Chant of Foundational Empowerment 10 times, each time focusing the energy into the bracelet, and increasing in volume each time you chant. After the final chant, now at a loud volume, the now magical bracelet will be imbued with protective energies.
Description: Through this process, the enchanter imbues a non-magical bracelet with the ability to create summoned armor. The first person who wears the bracelet outside of the Weir will attune itself to it.
Effect: When worn, this bracelet grants five points of summoned armor. The armor itself starts off as exhausted when the bracelet is first put on and the armor must be mended before it is useful. The bracelet’s Summoned Armor may be mended to full by an Enchanter by spending a Slow 60 roleplaying re-forging the magical armor at the Planar Weir’s circle of Foundational Empowerment.
Crafting Materials Needed: 2 Pieces of the same Foundation Resource, 5 Ingots, 3 Rare Minerals, 3 bags of Enchanted Hyperium
Uses per Batch: 1 piece of torso armor
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (3)
Total Participants: 1 (3)
Dark Territory Suit: Arms
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Requires Attunement
Crafting Process:
Note: This process can only be performed on a single piece of torso armor.
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Enter the circle with the 5 Ingots. Place the piece of armor in the ground, with the five Ingots around the piece of armor. Place the Enchanted Hyperium inside the armor. Place the Rare Minerals on top of the armor. Ring a bell to focus your power. Recite the Chant of Material Sacrifice clearly and loudly three times. Place the Resources within the Ashbin.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Take the armor into the Circle. In addition, bring a piece of the material that corresponds to the Foundation Resource being imbued upon the armor (Amber for Refuge as an example). Take the tuning fork and strike the armor with it until the magical harmonies align. Once you feel that the pitch is right, say the Chant of Foundational Empowerment aloud three times. The first time, chant loudly to wake up the soulheld energy within you. The second time, chant softly, focusing on the material that corresponds with the soulheld energy being used. The third time, chant with confidence, focusing on transferring the energy from you to the material.
Circle of Energetic Assignment: Take a basin of water, the armor, and the material into the circle. Place one hand into the basin and recite the Chant of Energetic Assignment, and hold onto the material that corresponds to the enchantment with the other hand. Place that hand on the front of the armor. Repeat this process nine times, focusing on transferring your energy to the armor and letting the basin of water ground your magical energies.
Note: If unattuned the enchantment ends.
Description: The armor is temporarily imbued with raw magical energy, powered for a year, allowing small effects depending on the type of Foundation Resource used to perform the enchantment.
Effect: The enchanter takes a piece of Foundation Resource and directly enchants a single piece of armor. As long as that piece is worn, the wearer may use the power of the enchantment. If multiple pieces of armor are enchanted, they can all be used individually. By default, the armor enchantment is non-functional and will give no benefit if the armor is shattered or at 0 Armor-Points, although different enchantments may override this. Each item may only be enchanted once. The piece of armor will attune to the first person to wear it outside of the Weir.
Crafting Materials Needed: 1 Foundation Resource - Any (any, see below), 1 Foundation Resource - Firmament, 12 Hide and 12 Ingots.
Uses per Batch: 1 Hearth
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (3)
Total Participants: 1 (3)
Dark Territory Suit: Implements
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Crafting Process:
Note: This process can only be performed on the special item that designates a Hearth (such as a horseshoe, banner, or other special item).
Circle of Material Sacrifice: Take the hearth item into the Circle as well as the Hide and Ingots. With a candle, burn each Hide into ash, each one reciting the Chant of Material Sacrifice. Use the tuning fork upon each Ingot, each time letting silence pass before resonating the fork upon the next. Deposit the used resources in the Ashbin.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Bring the hearth items as well as a piece of the material that corresponds to the Foundation Resource being imbued upon the item (such as amber for Refuge). Again use the tuning fork upon the metal. Each time true silence is found after ringing the fork, repeat the Chant of Foundational Empowerment, focusing your soulheld energy into the material. Do this three times.
Circle of Energetic Assignment: Placing a ring of candles around the hearth item, repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment eight times. Once finished placing the candles, place the material next to the hearth item. Using the full range of your arms and hands, move your hands through the air and ether calling forth with the Chant of Energetic Assignment three times loudly, transferring your soulheld energy into the hearth item.
Description: The Hearth is temporarily imbued with raw magical energy, powered for a year, allowing small effects depending on the type of Foundation Resource used to perform the enchantment.
Effect: The enchanter takes a piece of Foundation Resource and directly enchants the special item used to identify a hearth. The hearth will then gain the below effects, able to be used by anyone included in the Hearth. Each Hearth may only be enchanted once. Any additional Powers or benefits granted by the Hearth should be added to the info card of that Hearth.
Crafting Materials Needed: 4 pieces of the same type of Foundation Resource, 1 bag of Enchanted Hyperium
Uses per Batch: 1 Soul
Expiration: Standard
Type: Enchant
Ritualists: 1 (3)
Total Participants: 1 (3)
Dark Territory Suit: Illuminations
Dark Territory Required: Yes
Crafting Process:
Note: This process is performed on a person’s soul.
Circle of Foundational Empowerment: Sit inside the Circle. In addition, bring a piece of the material that corresponds to the Foundation Resource being imbued upon the person (such as amber for Refuge). Kneel while touching the ground with one hand, and holding the material in the other hand.
Chant the Chant of Foundational Empowerment five times, focusing each time on layering the magic from your soulhold into the material. Stand aloft and with two hands hold the material, again repeating the Chant of Foundational Empowerment five times, layering the second Foundation Resource that is soulheld into the material.
Do this a third time again repeating the Chant of Foundational Empowerment. Lastly, clutching the material to your chest, close your eyes and finish by repeating the Chant of Energetic Assignment five times, layering the energy of the final Foundation Resource into the material.
Circle of Energetic Assignment: The person receiving the Soulburn should lay in the center of the circle on their back. A basin of water should be placed near their head, a container of sand near their right hand, and a candle near their feet. Instruct the recipient to take a knife in their left hand and hold it over their chest pointing down towards their heart.
Repeating the Chant of Energetic Assignment, take the material and touch the water inside the basin. Take the material while holding it above the target's head, who shall say their real name out loud. Take the material and pass it over the candle while repeating the Chant of Energetic Assignment. Holding the material over the feet of the target, say the target’s name once more. Then, take the material and touch the sand in the basin, while repeating the Chant of Energetic Assignment. Hold the material over the target’s left hand and say the target’s name a third time.
Lastly, stand over the target, grasping the material with both hands. Focusing on the last of the energy remaining within, repeat the Chant of Energetic Assignment three times more, focusing the energy down into the dagger over the target’s chest. Typically, the magic going through the target’s body at this point is so painful that most die from the process without healing, so be prepared to provide support.
Description: An Enchanter can take several pieces of Foundation Resources and directly burn them into the person’s soul, granting special powers and abilities.
Effect: The enchanter takes three of the same type of Foundation Resource and directly enchants a person’s soul. A soul may only have one enchantment upon it at a time. If a second enchantment is put on a soul, the first enchantment is destroyed. Since this is not an item, it does not count against a character's attunement or Signature Item slots. This enchantment is very painful and will do 10 Piercing Final by Agony to the person getting enchanted.
