Terms and Conditions

Joining Instructions

Full details and course information will be sent via email following payment for the Move and Explore half term, term block or given to you on your first attended session.

Booking a Course and Payment

We only guarantee places on the course to people who have booked and paid in advance for the term. That said, we welcome weekly attendance but please note that should numbers exceed our capacity, we may not be able to cater for all and will prioritise based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Confirmation

Once we have received your completed booking form and payment we will be in touch to confirm your place. You will receive a receipt of payment for your child’s place and a statement confirming details of your child’s course.

Dress Code and Equipment

It is essential that you and your little one come fully prepared for the outdoors with full body waterproofs and wellingtons.

Weather Conditions

Whilst we endeavour to run our Move and Explore sessions through ‘rain or shine’, we cannot accept liability for refunds or otherwise if one chooses not to attend due to the weather.

Refunds and Cancellations

Refunds will only be given in the event of the course being cancelled by Wells Cathedral School or the course being fully booked.  Wells Cathedral School reserves the right to cancel the course up to 14 days before the start date, and a complete refund of the fee will be given. If the choice to cancel a session is made (for example, extreme/unsafe weather), a refund of £6.75 per session will be given for those who book in advance.

Programme Changes

Wells Cathedral School will always try to meet the programme outlined, however we reserve the right to alter or cancel any courses or other arrangements under our control due to insufficient numbers or extreme circumstances.

Supervision

All children must be accompanied by their supervising adult at all times.

Insurance

If one wishes to cover the possibility of injury, illness or cancellation, we strongly recommend that a personal insurance policy is taken out by all participants to cover these risks. Wells Cathedral School is not authorised to arrange insurance policies.

Health, Injuries and Liability

It is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure that they, and their child are in good physical condition and capable of engaging in the activity concerned. No child will be allowed to participate if he or she is suffering from any condition where there is a risk that his or her participation might be detrimental to the health of others. Course participants must follow any advice or warnings given which relate to safety and security, including procedures for fire and evacuations. Wells Cathedral School can have no liability for any personal injury, illness or death suffered by a participant on one of our sessions, nor for any loss of or damage to property unless caused by negligence on the part of the school or its employees.

Welfare

Wells Cathedral School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. The School complies with the DfES recommendations contained within the publication ‘Safeguarding Children 2010’ including the checking of all staff through the Disclosure and Barring Service. There will be members of staff on site at all times who are fully first aid trained. If your child has any medical conditions that may affect their participation please inform us of these in writing and we will try our best to accommodate his or her needs.

Snacks

A balanced snack will be provided as part of the session but please inform us of any dietary requirements.  You are welcome to bring your own snack if desired but please respect our ‘no nuts’ policy.

Arrival/Departure

On arrival, supervising adults are asked to meet our toddler team at the De Salis garden side gate, sign the register and ensure that they wear a red visitors lanyard.

No Smoking

Wells Cathedral School operates a no-smoking policy on campus.

Mobile Phones and Cameras

In line with our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy at Wells Cathedral School, use of personal photographic and recording devices is not permitted whilst in the presence of children during the school day. We therefore politely ask that supervising adults refrain from using mobile phones whilst participating in our sessions.

Whilst staff are aware that at no times should their own personal cameras/smartphones be used to record children, they are provided with a school camera/device in order to record the magic moments on your behalf. If you would like to build a collection of photos of your child getting stuck in, please ensure you have ticked ‘yes’ to photos whilst registering and our toddler team will collate photos of your child to be shared at the end of each term.
