How Can I Sync My Canvas Calendar to My Outlook Calendar?

NOTE: Canvas updates may not be immediately visible. Outlook does periodically update but it can take up to 24 hours to sync with Canvas’ calendar. Once synced all future events and past events within 30 days are included in Outlook.

1. Open the Calendar. Click on the Calendar link located under Courses in the global navigation bar.

2. Look right and locate Calendar Feed.

3. Click on Calendar Feed and copy the calendar feed link.

4. Go to Outlook and open your Outlook Calendar.

5. Click on Add calendar.

6. Click on Subscribe from the web.

7. A new window will open.

1. Paste the Calendar link feed into the subscription field.
2. Click Import. (once the link is copied,  the import box will darken).

8. A new window will open.

1. Name the calendar.
2. Select a calendar color.
3. Add a charm (optional).
4. Add to: Select the calendars destination. In this example, “My calendars”.
5. Select Import.

9. It will take a few seconds for the import process to complete.

10. The Outlook calendar will now contain events, appointments and assignments from your Canvas calendar. (In this example,  all Canvas events will appear in the selected color (purple a -c )).

IMPORTANT: It may take up to 24 hours to sync the Canvas calendar to Outlook calendar.  

Recommendation: Check intermittently to see if the update is complete.
