Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

As we continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic and prepare for distance learning, it is our priority to keep you informed as we navigate the days ahead. Our staff has been hard at work to creatively provide our students with the quality education they need and deserve during this unprecedented time. We have so much to celebrate as a Spud Team. Check out this video of our meal distribution program and other “wins” this week at Moorhead Area Public Schools.

Of first importance, we want to get materials to your students in preparation for distance learning. You will be receiving communication from your school administrators later this afternoon (3/20/20) with specific scheduled appointments and procedures to pick up student supplies and necessary equipment.

We will be closing our buildings to the public to protect our staff. Material pick up will happen at an assigned time and in small groups throughout the week next week to ensure everyone’s safety. We will also be providing more information on our distance learning plan by the end of next week so that everyone is informed, prepared and excited to start learning in a new paradigm on March 30.

As I said in the video, one of the wonderful things about our community is that we pull together in challenging times. We care for our neighbors. We put student needs first. And we never back down from a challenge. I am confident that we have the right team in place and I’m extremely proud to be a part of the Spud team and community.

Sincerely,

Brandon Lunak,

Superintendent
