Junior School Library

The Branksome Hall Junior School Library offers an excellent 14,000-item children’s print collection, an ever-expanding digital presence and professional library staff available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. The library closes at 4:00 p.m.

on Fridays. All students attend regularly scheduled classes in the library. Teachers work collaboratively with the library staff, on planning lessons, making book selections and scheduling class visits. Primary classes enjoy story time and are encouraged to take new titles home every week. Junior classes have time and guidance for individual book selection, as well as book talks, author visits and instruction and assistance with research for inquiry. The Junior School Library welcomes parents at any time as volunteers and to check out the collection. The library’s collection, news and events are available through the MyBranksome Portal under Resources.

School Books

All textbooks, workbooks, homework agendas and other materials are supplied by the homeroom teacher at school. Students entering JK–Grade 6 do not order their books online. Your daughter’s account is charged for books and materials that pertain to her grade.

Parents are charged a materials fee at the beginning of the school year. Should your daughter lose a textbook, she will be charged a replacement fee. Homework Agendas are given to all students in the first week of school and can be a helpful communication tool between home and school. Students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 are issued a Supply List indicating items they are personally responsible for bringing to class. These lists can be downloaded from the Junior School Resource Board.
