Q. Why do some parks have active reservations for certain dates while others do not?

  1. If a park does not show availability for specific dates, the campground is booked to capacity for those dates.

Q. Can I camp at a specific park?

  1. All parks with camping have fully opened their reservations, including cabins and yurts.
  2. Individual park pages will be updated by park staff to share their available amenities, boat ramp horse, etc. at a park level
  3. CPWShop.com will show availability as customers search the park or the dates they are hoping to reserve

Q. Is camping open at SWAs?/How will we know what SWAs are open before traveling?

  1. Camping on SWAs continues being phased in as we work with local partners.
  2. All annual restrictions on camping for wildlife health and safety, and regulations that prohibit camping outside of hunting season, remain in place on our SWAs
  3. The following counties or properties are CLOSED to SWA camping
  1. Costilla County - extended camping closure per county request
  2. Dolores County
  3. Grand County
  4. Gunnison County
  5. Park County
  6. San Miguel County
  7. Jumbo Reservoir SWA - per county request
  8. Skaguay Reservoir SWA - inability to properly exercise social distancing
  9. Clear Creek Reservoir SWA - per county request

        

  1. Other SWAs are opening in conjunction with state parks in the area or with the lifting of county restrictions. Please see the Safer-at-Home county map to research county-specific health orders.
  2. If you need information prior to traveling, please call the CPW Area Office where the property is located for more information.

Q. What types of sites are available?

  1. Primitive, basic, electric, full hookup, and backcountry sites are open.
  2. Cabins, yurts, tipis, and group camping for groups of 10 or less are also available to reserve.
  1. All parks are using CDC-approved cleaning materials and processes on yurts and cabins between guests.
  2. Parks may adjust check-in times or days between guests to accommodate the additional cleaning steps. Please visit specific park pages for potential changes.

Q. Are there special procedures for cleaning sites between customers?

  1. Park managers are committed to ensuring that all available facilities are clean and sanitary and will take extra precautions to enhance their cleanliness (i.e. more frequent, if not daily, cleaning and disinfecting of facilities open to public use) using CDC and CDPHE guidelines regarding cleaning of public areas below.

Q. It says there is no change/cancellation fee, but my refund was short $6. How/when will that be returned?

  1. Change fees have been waived until the end of 2020. Cancellation fees have been waived through the end of May. Cancellation refunds must be manually processed. Your $6 will be refunded within 90 days. If you made your original reservation online or at 1-800-244-5613, the refund will be issued to your original payment method. If you made your original reservation directly with the park, your reservation will be issued via check.
