Build towards having a girls league in the Chapala league

Encourage girls 14-16 year old girls to become involved in the program.

Provide education for coaches ( 1-4) who are qualified for FIFA certification

Secure Funding for balls, cones, practice uniforms, medical supplies, ball bags

Project Objectives:

Campaign is initiated to make local girls aware of opportunity to become involved in soccer.

Qualified Coaches attend training courses approved by FIFA.

Those eligible participate in the 2nd year of program. A coach successfully completing the 2nd year can then instruct 1st year coaches.  Builds sustainability.

Description/Location/

Background:

Union Soccer is designed to serve disadvantaged youth and to provide a healthy sports after school program.  This team meets at the Ajijic field next to the Tianga street.

1. Organization

Support for the Club is the Patronato de Football de Ajijic

Responsible for the two football fields on Revolution  in Ajijic

Maintain the fields

Collect an entry fee of 10 pesos

Kiosks at the two fields selling food and drinks which pays for the expense of maintaining the Club

2.Teams

12 Teams

10 Teams of boys ages 6 to 16

2 Teams are women who play in the only league for woman in the Chapala League (Seniors) there is only one league in Chapala for females

3.Each Team plays minimum 24 games a year.

Average 20 players on each team

At  least Two coaches per Team and at least 30 volunteers

4. League:  Chapala League City of Chapala

League infantile to Juveniles

There are 12 Teams in each age group from 6-8 8-10 10 -12 12-14 14 -16

6-8 plays on a Saturday and the other 10 Teams play on a Sunday

This is the fourth year that RCOA has supported this program.

Community need and involvement

Approximately 300 youth are benefiting from this training program.  The majority come from economically disadvantaged families.

Community Acceptance/Approval

The increase in players since the start of the program  reflects strong community support.  

Beneficiaries:  

Beneficiaries: students from the age 5-18 from economically disadvantaged families.
