Orientation and Opening Days
	Wednesday, September 4, 2019 Grades 2–6: 9:00 a.m.–12:20 p.m. JK–Grade 1: 9:30–11:00 a.m.
	First Day Routine for JK–Grade 1 Students Students in JK–Grade 1 should arrive with their parents at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Parents and students should meet their daughter’s teacher at the West Lawn Playground and help walk them to their classroom, if needed, on the first day. Parents are then invited to join the Welcome Coffee, hosted by the BHPA in the Gillam Family Atrium. JK-Grade 1 teachers will host an in-class orientation for parents at 10:20 a.m. and their daughter will return to class for dismissal at 11:00 a.m.
	First Day Routine for Grades 2–6 Students Classes for students in grades 2–6 begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. The first day is intended to orient students to their new teachers, classroom, classmates, routines and expectations. New students are assigned buddies, who will assist them in their first weeks. New parents in Grades 2–6 are invited to attend a Welcome Coffee from 9:00–11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, in the Gillam Family Atrium on the second floor of the Junior School. Come meet members of the BHPA, current parents, other new parents and faculty, and learn more about how you can get involved in the Branksome Hall community.
	Parents’ Association Welcome Parents of new students and students in JK, SK and Grade 1 are invited to attend a Welcome Coffee from 9:30–11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, in the Gillam Family Atrium on the second floor of the Junior School. Come meet members of the BHPA, current parents, other new parents and faculty, and learn more about how you can get involved in the Branksome Hall community. Again, JK–Grade 1 teachers will host an in-class orientation for parents at 10:20 a.m. and their daughter will return to class for dismissal at 11:00 a.m.
	Junior Kindergarten Orientation In order to ensure that our JK students start the year smoothly, they will have half days on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6. As a JK parent, you will be contacted in late August by your daughter’s classroom teacher, who will give you more details about the start of school. All JK parents are invited to the JK Orientation on Wednesday, September 4, from 9:30–11:00 a.m.
