MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

This Tuesday is Afrika Lives! Afrika Lives! is an interdisciplinary arts and academic exhibition and also one of our oldest traditions at Boston Arts Academy, going all the way back to 1999. It represents our belief that having students demonstrate their interdisciplinary thinking and learning in a public, authentic way deepens their learning. Classrooms will be transformed into ancient civilizations, and students will be sharing dance and music at the opening performance.

We will be hosting elementary and middle school students for the exhibition, and we are hopeful that we will see many BAA families there as well.

Congratulations to the Humanities 1 students on this BAA rite of passage! And I wish everyone a great week!

CONGRATULATIONS AND SHOUT-OUTS

Shout out to freshmen, who participated in the ID/3D festival, a time-honored BAA tradition where 9th graders connect with their class through discussion of the different faces of their identities.

Shout out to Afrika Lives! performers. For many of these students, their performance during Afrika Lives! on Tuesday will be their very first performance at BAA!

Shout out to Camilla, Jelitza, Martha, and Ava for a great season with the CASH volleyball team.

Shout out to the VA department for a successful Design and Visual Communications Board meeting! Special shout out to Quinn Byers, Nathan Paredes and Karen Cheng for representing student voice on the board.

Shout out to the senior dance majors for their successful auditions with Adelphi university.

Shout out to everyone making that last effort for your term one grades! You can do it!

Have someone(s) to congratulate or shout out? Please email Ms. Booth --> tbooth@bostonartsacademy.org (be sure to include name and reason for the shout out)
