Weekly Bulletin

November 12 - November 16, 2018  |  Week 11

MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

We are excited to welcome families for family conferences this week. At Boston Arts Academy, we believe that families are important partners in students' success, and we appreciate the time and effort families expend to participate in these important conversations.

Students, please know that the goal is for you to lead the conversation about your learning. The reason that you get your narratives in advance of the conferences is because we want you to have the opportunity to reflect and to plan. More important than your teachers identifying your strengths and challenges is your ability to do so for yourself. The philosopher Confucius once said something to the effect that learning without reflection is a wasted opportunity. My hope is that you will take advantage of narrative conferences as an important reflection opportunity.

Have a great week!

*NEW* The Boston Arts Academy Foundation is an independent, registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was established in 1999 to raise essential funds for the school. Each year, the BAA Foundation raises between 35% and 40% of the school’s budget from private sources. The BAA Foundation helps bridge the gap between the school’s allocation from the Boston Public Schools, and the true cost of a high-quality education that is both arts-intensive and college preparatory. Support from foundations, corporations, and individual donors is critical to the school’s ability to offer a comprehensive arts and academic education. Without such support, our city’s young people, living in one of the cultural capitals of the world, would not be able to attend a public arts high school. You can make a gift, or establish a monthly recurring gift, today at bostonartsacademy.org/givetobaa.
