Weekly Bulletin

November 13 - November 17, 2017  |  Week 12

MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

At Boston Arts Academy, we teach our students that critique is an important part of the artistic and academic process. Just in the last few weeks, I saw senior dance majors preparing for their Senior Dance Project choreography show by presenting work, in progress, to professional choreographers for critique. I saw freshmen preparing for Afrika Lives! by showing each other their presentations, in progress, for critique. As you're working through an artistic or academic challenge, it's helpful to know along the way both what you're doing well and where you could improve. We all learn and grow from specific, constructive feedback.

As a school we are inviting families this week to support our growth by giving us a critique. We have a very important subcommittee of our Board of Trustees called the "Family Engagement Committee." This committee is charged with evaluating how well we work with families as partners in their students' success and with making specific suggestions for improvement. The Family Engagement Committee has prepared a survey that we hope you will fill out when you come in for conferences this Tuesday. Both paper copies and iPads for electronic submission will be available, and we will enter you in a raffle as a thank you for taking the time.

Thank you for supporting our growth at Boston Arts Academy, and have a great week!
