GameChanger Introduction

Dear Minors and Majors families,

One of the important volunteering positions that parents and guardians do is scorekeeping. At Beacon Hill we use GameChanger for scorekeeping Minors and Majors games.

New and existing families to Minors and Majors please read this. There is some NEW info.

What does GC do?

  1. It allows us to score keep / track pitch count using an iPad - no more filling out paper copies in the clubhouse.
  2. It allows parents and family members to follow the game in the app, watch a livestream and view statistics. There is a free plan and 2 paid plans for families and fans. More info here. Plan costs are up to you. https://gc.com/pricing
  3. It will provide our coaches with more insights into plays and performance, and watch replays
  4. We will still require 2 scorekeepers (one from each team playing) to work together.

How will it work?

In the Hollywood Clubhouse there are 2 iPads and a streaming camera in the clubhouse and are the property of BH and must remain in the clubhouse.

  1. Scorekeeping iPad has GameChanger loaded
  2. Streaming iPad has the Mevo Start streaming camera app and GC installed
  3. Both iPads will talk to each other for streaming purposes.

What do we need from you?

  1. Practice using the app!!! Please download and install the GameChanger app for iOS or Android (it’s free) and you can practice scorekeeping on your own mobile or tablet. You don’t even have to create an account, you can practice scorekeeping directly from the login screen. We won’t need your phone/tablet for games at Hollywood Park, only for away Interlock games.

  5. Live training. I may run some orientation sessions but at this point I believe we have enough experience in the club that new parents can shadow existing parents who know how to use GC.

NEW: First year Minors families please pair up with a scorekeeper during a game or two in order to get familiar with it.

What will we NOT be doing with GC?

  1. Team communication
  2. Tracking availability
  3. Any of the other things that TeamSnap is used for.
