Player Code of Conduct

It is the intention of the Beacon Hill Player Code of Conduct to promote trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship for all participants within the Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association. Parents and caregivers, by registering your child to participate on any team at Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association you agree that your child will abide by this Player Code of Conduct - no signature is required. Each Player will continue to observe these principles during the baseball and/or softball season in accordance with the Player Code of Conduct and the Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association Bylaws.

I Will:
a) play baseball or softball because I want to, not because others or coaches want me to
b) play by the rules of baseball or softball and in the spirit of the game
c) do my best to be a true team player and work equally hard for myself and my team
d) abide by the principles of the Little League Code (baseball Players)
e) act in a manner that reflects positively upon myself, my parent/guardian, team, team sponsors (if any), and the Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association at all times, to and from the park, on and off the field
f) remember that winning isn't everything - that having fun, improving skills, making friends and doing my best are also important
g) respect my teammates, coaches, managers, opponents, and umpires in all on-field practices/game situations
h) respect and accept decisions of the umpires and officials
i) control my temper and not use unsporting gestures, nor use inappropriate talk, language, or profanity, nor throw gloves, bats, or other equipment in disgust
j) demonstrate integrity and participate in the on-field handshake following every game
k) remember that the coaches, team manager, my teammates, and umpires are there to help me and I will accept their decisions and show them respect
l) cooperate with my coaches, team manager, teammates, and on-field officials
m) never interfere with, bully, haze, or take unfair advantage of any player, coach, or umpire - on or off the field or in any electronic form - including all forms of on-line electronic or social media
n) refrain from public criticism or remarks of an inappropriate nature which may be detrimental towards a player, team, coach, manager, umpire, volunteer, or the Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association both on and off the field or in electronic form - including any and all forms of on-line, electronic, or social media
o) never engage in any harassment including that in relation to race, colour, age, gender, ability, place of origin, sexual orientation, religion, family status, political belief, or economic status of a player, team, coach, manager, opponent, volunteer, another player's parent/guardian, or umpire
p) abide by the Bylaws, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, terms of reference, and requirements of the Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association, the regulations and playing rules of Little League International, and the decisions of the Beacon Hill Baseball and Softball Association and/or Little League International
