Weekly Bulletin

MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

The Theatre department's show "Ruined" opens at the end of the week in BAA's Black Box (Friday 4pm and 7pm; Saturday 7pm). The show is directed by guest artist Jackie Davis. Ms. Davis is an accomplished actress, director and choreographer, and her directing/choreography credits include theaters such as Speakeasy Stage, Berklee College of Music and SLAM Boston.

Guest artists are an important part of Boston Arts Academy. We want students to have opportunities to work with professionals in the field, to have opportunities to develop professional habits, and to get artistic coaching from professionals. For that reason we bring guest artists in whenever we can in all of the majors as teachers, lecturers, choreographers, directors, conductors, collaborators, and so on. In some cases, our graduates have made connections with guest artists that have led to opportunities beyond Boston Arts Academy. We have had graduates go on to join guest artist's dance companies and tour with guest musicians, for example.

When you come to see "Ruined," I know you'll be impressed by the professional-quality product. Please know that there was also a professional process behind the work.

Have a great week!

CONGRATULATIONS AND SHOUT OUTS

Shout out and huge thank you to the Dance Department for providing a beautiful dance scene for BAA’s Opera Scenes program that took place on May 17th! It was perfect and the music department appreciated their time and talent!
