Weekly Bulletin

December 10 - December 14, 2018  |  Week 15

MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

Two more weeks to holiday break, and there are many important deadlines, activities, and performances to go. I appreciate students’ focus and determination as we work to support each other in this busy time of the year!

I want to congratulate the theatre majors and the visual artists on their recent big shows...and thank the many students from other majors who came out to support them.  Your education at BAA also includes the opportunity to learn about all the arts, particularly through the performances and exhibitions of your classmates. I hope to see many non-music majors at the upcoming music performances. Part of community with social responsibility is supporting the others in your community and celebrating their hard work.

Have a great week!

CONGRATULATIONS AND SHOUT-OUTS

Congratulations to Visual Arts Seniors whose visual arts exhibition, that went up last week, features deep thinking, strong skills and a lot of empathy and compassion. Their show, “A Good Time, Not a Long Time”, will be up in the BAA Art Gallery through Tuesday, January 15, so be sure to stop by and see the show. And more importantly, ask a visual arts senior to share their work with you--you won't be disappointed.

Shout out to Mayal Levy who sang on stage with the music group 'The Internet' at a sold out concert at Paradise Rock Club. He was a part of a cover contest for their band.

Shout out to Dashawn Borden, Yesther Diaz Kelly, Ronnie Floyd, William Gordon, Noah Mason, Isabella Pavei, Yvon Pierre, Dylan Verge, and Brandon Volel of the Charlie Brown Blues Band, and guest vocalists Angelina Botticelli and Justin Dimanche who performed at the Avid End-of-Year party last week to much praise.

Shout out to the Theatre Department for this past weekend’s performance of “Waiting for Lefty”. Not only was it great to see the passion within this weekend’s performances, but it was also amazing to witness the transformation of the space and the amount of teamwork that went into making the space ready for the production (with only one week to do it!). Congratulations!

Shout out the Admissions Department and everyone involved in the audition workshop this past weekend. Over 160 students and families left the workshop feeling enthusiastic.

Have someone(s) to congratulate or shout out? Please email Ms. Booth --> tbooth@bostonartsacademy.org (be sure to include name and reason for the shout out)
