Corrective Action

No Paperwork

No shipping note and/or shipping labels on boxes or waybill provided upon delivery.

Ensure every shipment has the correct and sufficient paperwork:

  • Booking confirmation
  • Shipping Note
  • Shipping Label

Barcode Issue

This includes Takealot Marketplace product labels not scanning, incorrectly printed product labels,  smudged product label, multiple labels and instances where the retail barcode is not covered by a Marketplace product label (“barcode”).

Ensure the Takealot Marketplace Product Label requirements are met:

  • the product label covers the retail barcode
  • the product label is placed on the product as it will be stored and shipped (not on the shipping box)
  • Not smudged or bleeding
  • Not cut off
  • Not pasted over a corner
  • Not placed inside of bubble wrap or packaging where it cannot be scanned

No Barcode

No Marketplace product label found on the unit.

Each sellable unit needs a Takealot Marketplace product label.

Damaged

The item is damaged and is not eligible for resale.

Ensure each unit is packaged properly to prevent damage, especially during transit to the Distribution Centres

  • Refer to the appendices in the Goods Receiving Requirements document

Short Delivery

Less unit(s) received than the quantity stated on the shipping note.

Deliver the exact quantity of units as per the shipping note.

Over Delivery

More unit(s) delivered than the quantity stated on the shipping note.

Deliver the exact quantity of units as per the shipping note.

Nonconforming Packaging

The unit(s) are not compliant with the TAL Packaging & Shipping Policies.

Ensure each unit is compliant

  • Refer to the appendices in the Goods Receiving Requirements document

Wet/Leaking

The unit(s) is leaking and/or is wet.

Refer to the appendices in the Goods Receiving Requirements document

Short Dated

The expiry date is less than 3 months of the shelf life on the product or 6 months depending on the product type.

Ensure units are compliant to the expiry date guidelines

  • Refer to the appendices in the Goods Receiving Requirements document

No Booking

There is no booking made for delivery.

Ensure each delivery is booked and the Takealot booking protocol is followed.

Late Delivery

The delivery arrived outside the accepted window (2 hours before or after).

Early Delivery

The  delivery arrived outside the accepted window (2 hours before or after).

Prohibited Goods

The goods are not accepted as per the prohibited goods policy ie. hazardous goods.

All goods need to be compliant with the Prohibited Goods Policy

  • Refer to the Goods Receiving Requirements document

Incorrect Facility

The delivery has been made to the incorrect Distribution Centre.

Ensure the correct goods are shipped to the correct DC.

Cancelled PO

 The PO has been cancelled by Inbound Coordinator.

Other  

 Any other reason that does not fall within the above categories.
