Weekly Bulletin

January 28 - February 1, 2019  |  Week 21

MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

Congratulations on a great Intersession! Both students and teachers took surveys to assess our experience over the last week. Adjectives that students and teachers used to describe the experience included the following: fun, collaborative, inspiring, interesting, transforming, affirming, spectacular.

What do we want to carry from Intersession into semester two? That's the question that faculty considered at the end of the day on Friday and that advisories will discuss on Monday. As we return to classes, we recognize that "regular BAA" can't be exactly be like "Intersession BAA"...but what can transfer?

Students, when you think about that question, please think not just about the structural elements of Intersession (activities you liked or Intersession projects that you would like to see incorporated into classes). Please think about your relationships with teachers in Intersession and about your relationship to your own learning. Were you more focused, engaged, invested during Intersession? What did you learn about your own learning that would help you be more focused, engaged, and invested in semester two?

Have a great week!

CONGRATULATIONS AND SHOUT-OUTS

Shout out to Ms. Tighe and the entire cast and crew of Memphis! Over 2000 people attended our 4 performances, each of which was delivered skillfully and with heart. Shout out to Diane Thai for stage managing two shows (Waiting for Lefty and Memphis) at once! Go rock star!

Shout out to Malik Mitchell who advanced to the finals in the August Wilson Monologue Contest. The finals will be held on Monday, January 28, at 7pm at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. The winner of the finals will compete in NYC in the Spring.
