Consider purchase.
- They have been found in Orchard and Covered Bridge parks and elsewhere in borough.
- Discussed contacting other local municipalities. Andrea will talk to Sam about this.
- Idea for Lantern Fly Task Force - Maybe a group with reps from other committees that are talking about the problem.
- We feel we must identify the “Trees of Heaven” in the borough. Andrea will talk to Sam about this.
- What is DelVal University doing? Derek talked to Doug Christie - monitoring - no action planned
- Andrea drafting article for winter newsletter to inform residents
Financials - - $7,000 budget (2018) approved by borough council
- Sam will be at the next meeting to discuss DCNR Grant
- Received an extra $10,000 from DCNR (excess funds). Final grant totals $40,000
- Apple trees
- Bartlett Tree Service schedule
- Schedule second stage apple tree pruning (needs to happen in February/March - costs $1,300)
- Ash trees
- Bair Tree service for removal in the winter/ spring
- Sam to contact to proceed
Old Business: - Crab apple trees - Tom recommends “Donald Wyeman trees” a specific tree from Walter’s to replace removed apple trees
- Determine quantity needed; $4,000 in 2018 grant
- Boundary Lines -
- Stake removal and replace - we want to be sure we have it correctly on the boundary line
- Mark Hintenlang and previous Gilmore survey from property purchase? ID corner markers.
- Consider moving fence sections - permits, location
- Nesting Box Repair -
- Bat box repaired and painted. Tom and Halsey will put it us when weather warms up - before the bats return in April.
- Winter shelter boxes - Tom and Halsey will look into repairing
- Bee Boxes
- Janet is interested in becoming a certified beekeeper
