Virtual Orientation Week for NEW Boarding students

If a returning student wishes to participate in the online Orientation Week, please contact the Director of Boarding for permission and details.

Friday, 4 September, 2020 to Monday, September 7, 2020

Mandatory in-person orientation for both new AND returning Boarding students.

This Orientation weekend is essential to helping students successfully transition to the Boarding program and it is mandatory in order to review the new protocols we will follow in September.

It is expected that all Boarding students will participate in our face-to-face Orientation Week program from Friday, September 4 to Monday, September 7, 2020 to mentor the new students and review the new protocols that are in place following the guidelines of Toronto Public Health and the Ontario Ministry of Education. We will have physical distancing protocols in place for these events.

Boarding Advisors

The Boarding staff are a professional and caring group of adults who are experienced in the areas of residential living and the development of young women. Boarding Advisors hold university degrees in a number of subject areas and are well-suited to offer academic support and provide social-emotional care.

All members of Branksome’s faculty and staff will complete the daily screening before arriving to campus. Boarding Advisors will be wearing a non-medical mask at all times when working in the houses.

Boarding staff will organize a series of activities over the course of the year. These might include movie nights, house competitions, karaoke, craft projects, exercise classes, game nights, etc. As social and emotional well-being is top of mind, Boarding staff will create opportunities for students to try new things and learn more about themselves, each other, the school community, Toronto and Canadian culture.
