Celebrity Cook-Off Rules

Help us celebrate the craft building the perfect burger with our Celebrity Burger Cook-Off on June 1st at the Historic War Memorial Stadium.  Local celebrities chef's will create their unique burger creations. First place prizes will be awarded in two categories - one picked by a panel of celebrity judges on both taste and presentation and, the “fan favorite”, by cookout attendees.

Winners own 2019 Bragging Rights and PK Trophy.

All day activates also include fun stuff for the kids, beer vendors, live food demos, steak competition and much more!

  1. “Teams” can consist of any number of people, but one member must be chosen as team captain. Teams can be as small as one individual.
  2. Cookers must provide a grill and necessary fuel to cook 2 or more pounds of product.
  3. We encourage decorating your cook-off area, but all decorations and furnishings must be confined to your allocated space.
  4. The only thing provided to burger competition contestants is a regulation cooking area.
  5. All property and equipment used for cooking must be confined to your allocated space. All equipment must be free standing - no stakes, post holes, or digging is allowed. Use of sand buckets for tent covers is allowed.
  6. No pre-cooking allowed. Cooking may begin after team captain meeting.
  7. All food products must be stored and maintained at safe temperatures.
  8. Each contestant competing shall supply all of their own cooking ingredients, individual cooking devices (propane or charcoal) utensils, preparation tables, etc. Burger meat will be provided by the Arkansas Beef Council.
  9. All fires must be contained. Absolutely no ground fires or digging pits.
  10. Team captain is responsible for team conduct. No lewd or inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.
  11. Each team is responsible for cleaning up their cook area.
  12. PK Grills, vendors, and volunteers will not be held responsible for loss, damage, theft, injury or accidents.
  13. Judging begins at 2:00 PM on Saturday. Burgers not available at the judging tent within 5 minutes of judging slot time may not qualify.
  14. Burgers may earn up to 100 points from each judge - 30 points for presentation (appearance) and 70 points for taste. The burger with the highest average value point wins.
  15. Each team must submit three burgers for judging - two must be quartered with each quarter secured with a toothpick; these burgers will be used to judge taste; the third burger will be left intact and judged for presentation only.
  16. All results are final. Teams are reminded that this is a friendly cooking event and competition. Sportsmanship is required at all times.
