Board Position Descriptions

PRESIDENT:

Presides over the executive committee meetings and delegates responsibility to run the Club’s daily activities and plan for the Club’s future needs. The President is expected to maintain and enhance support and success of the Club by, among others, establishing and keeping contact with similar sport organizations, developing outreach programs in collaboration with the Vice President, and developing new agenda items.

VICE PRESIDENT:

Responsible for notifying all Falcons of information relating to Club activities. They maintain a working relationship with the community, including the LGBT+ press. They are also responsible for overseeing marketing and communication, in collaboration with the President and the Communications Officer.

DEPUTY VICE PRESIDENT:

Responsible for supporting the activities of the other members of the executive committee. The Deputy VP is also responsible for coordinating the Club’s social and league/tournament activities, and setting the agenda for and moderating Club’s meetings.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER:

Responsible for maintaining a current Club roster, maintaining the Club’s website, distributing emails regarding Club activities, and developing press releases in conjunction with the Marketing Director.

TREASURER:

Charged with dues collection, Club membership roster information, accounts receivable and payable, and assets and liabilities management. The Treasurer is also responsible for providing reports of the Club’s financial status.

MARKETING DIRECTOR:

Responsible for the advertising efforts of the Club. The Marketing Director works closely with the Vice President(s) and the Communications Officer to insure proper representation in any promotion, organize fundraising events, produce and review content for the media (including social media).

FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP LIAISON:

Responsible for soliciting and developing new sources and contracts for annual and event sponsorship. The Liaison, together with the Treasurer, ensure proper documentation of donations.

SECRETARY:

Responsible for administrative assistance to the executive committee and ensures that Club records are up to date; takes and reports minutes of Club’s meetings.

RECRUITMENT OFFICER:

Plays an integral role in outreach and follows up with potential new members. Duties include organizing a Falcons booth at local LGBT+ events, reaching out to new recruits found at local community events to advertise our events and practice schedule, and working with Captains to ensure that new recruits are being welcomed and introduced on the field.

SPORTING ACTIVITIES OFFICER:

Responsible for coordinating soccer opportunities for current Club members.  Duties include overseeing committees that coordinate intra-Club play, identifying external leagues and travel tournaments, ensuring all members have an equal opportunity to play and supporting initiatives to improve technical skills, fitness, health and good sportsmanship.
