1. Introduction

Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth is a Health Sciences Deemed University comprising of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing Sciences and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences in the following constituent colleges:

2. Admission to Postgraduate Medical, Dental Courses

All Admissions are strictly based on the merit at  NEET PG 2019 and the Counselling conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) duly constituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI, New Delhi.

Please note that 100% of all seats in postgraduate courses are available on an All India Basis with 15% of seats reserved for NRI / OCI students.

3. Admission Process

Once you have been allocated a seat for a PG Course, through the Centralised Counselling process, please report to the Office of the Dean at the respective colleges to complete the admission process on or before the stipulated date mentioned in the seat ‘Allotment Letter’ issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi.

4. Documents Required:

Please bring the ORIGINALS of all the Documents listed below, along with two sets of self attested photocopies:

  1. Original Seat Allotment Letter, issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi.
  2. NEET PG Admit Card Issued by National Board of Examinations (NBE)
  3. NEET PG Rank Card / Letter Issued by National Board of Examinations (NBE)
  4. MBBS/BDS University Graduation Certificate (or Provisional Certificate)
  5. MBBS/BDS Mark List / Certificate
  6. MBBS/BDS Internship Completion Certificate
  7. State Medical Council / Dental Council (Provisional or  Permanent) Registration Certificate
  8. MBBS/BDS Mark Lists / Certificates - of all years, First to Last Year of Study
  9. MBBS/BDS Consolidated Mark List
  10. MBBS/BDS Conduct Certificate
  11.  MBBS/BDS Transfer Certificate
  12. 5 Passport Size (35 x 45 mm) Photographs of the Candidate as in the NEET PG Admit Card, along with 2 Stamp Size Photos.
  13. One Photograph of Parent or Guardian
  14.  Aadhar Card
  15.  Any other Government ID Card other than the Aadhaar Card : (PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Driving  License, Passport)
  16. For NRI and Foreign Nationals: Appropriate Visa, OCI or PIO Card need to be produced.

Students must submit all the Certificates in original. Failure to produce the original certificates will result in forfeiting the seat alloted by DGHS.

5. Annual Tuition Fee Details

Please note that confirmation of admission is possible only on payment of full fees for the first year.

6. Mode of Payment

Payment of the Annual Fees in full is essential to secure Admission.

Fees should be paid at the time of reporting for admission by Bank Demand Draft in favour of: Concerned College Name.

  1. Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute , Payable at Puducherry.        
  2. Shri Sathya Sai Medical College & Research Institute, Payable at Chennai.         
  3. Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Payable at Puducherry.

7. Hostel Accommodation

Separate hostels are available for male and female postgraduates and are comfortably furnished. All Postgraduate students will have to compulsorily reside in the Campus as per statutory rules.  

The Annual Hostel Fees including boarding and lodging are Rs. 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Only).

The rooms are fully furnished, with air-conditioning, hot water geysers, student wifi and other amenities. The hostels feature common areas with reading halls, gym, theater, playgrounds for football, hockey, cricket, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, etc.

8. Other Important Information

Discontinuance of Study:

If the Candidate discontinues his/her course of study for any reason whatsoever after admission, the candidate with his/her parents / Guardian shall be liable to pay the whole fees for the entire course of study before being formally released from the Deemed University and original certificates returned. A binding agreement to this effect will be signed by the candidate and his/her parents / Guardian.

Medical Fitness

Medical Fitness of the candidate for undertaking the professional course is a  mandatory requirement for securing admission. All candidates shall undergo a medical examination (which includes mental fitness) for determining the fitness at one of the University’s tertiary care hospitals and be certified to be medically fit.

Ragging

There is a strict zero tolerance policy with regard to ragging. Any student found indulging in ragging will be dealt with in accordance with rules in the force prohibiting ragging and thus  result in dismissal from the University as per the “Medical Council of India (Prevention and Prohibition of ragging in Medical College / Institutions) Regulations, 2009” (as amended), ”DCI Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Dental Colleges, 2009”  (as amended) and “UGC Regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009”(as amended).   Toll Free Anti-ragging helpline number:1800 – 180 – 5522.

Professionalism and Code of Conduct

The University lays importance emphasis on Professionalism.

All PG students are governed by a strict code of conduct and are expected to uphold dignity of the medical profession and the  ethos of the Deemed University, morally and ethically. Any behavior or action unbecoming of a Medical / Dental  professional shall be deemed punishable.

High levels of academic commitment are expected of students. Parents /  Guardian are expected to cooperate with the University to ensure high standards of education and professionalism that would be imparted to their wards.

8. BOND [ MD/MS ] – to be executed in Non Judicial Stamp Paper

Candidate after successful completion of the MD/MS Course shall serve for concern Medical College in their respective departments as Senior Residents for a period of one year.  Failing which he/she has to pay a penalty of Rupees Ten Lakhs. The candidate shall receive a pay as salary according to Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth  norms.

Penalty

Students shall compensate the Deemed University and pay the Prescribed punitive fine in case of destruction and harm done to the property and interests. Failure to pay the penalty can result in debarring the student from appearing in the University Exams or withholding of the results.
