ENTRY FEES: SPEECH: $25 per partner per entry | __________________________ REGISTRATIONIf you are logged in to the team website, you can click here to register for SCU. __________________________ ENTRY LIMITSYou may enter up to two speech events, AND a maximum of one debate. Entry in both speech and debate is possible, but at your own risk, as you may forfeit if one of the events is running behind. |
__________________________ NOVICE DIVISION ELIGIBILITYTo qualify for novice division, a competitor must be in his/her first year of competition, OR (for debate only) is in their second year of any kind of debate competition and has never advanced to an elimination round. BOTH partners must meet the qualifications in order to enter as a novice team (i.e. a Novice division competitor competing with a Open division partner must be entered in Open division) __________________________ SPECIAL RULES / TOPICS:LD — Use CHSSA rules. Topic is the NSDA Mar/Apr topic. Public Forum — use CHSSA rules (Aff always speaks first, sides assigned for prelims, coin flip in elims if round is not side-locked) Parli — Computers are allowed during preparation time, but are forbidden during speaking time. A new topic will be selected each round; each flight will have separate topics. Speech — use CHSSA rules, except that OA and OO are combined into “Persuasive”, and Extemp is combined IX/NX. In all events, brackets will be broken to avoid entries meeting their own team in elims. | __________________________ GENERAL RULESAll standard local tournament rules apply. __________________________ JUDGE REQUIREMENTSAnyone over the age of 18 is eligible to come as a judge.
