Clans and Advisors

Each student is a member of a clan. The purpose of clans is to provide a smaller-group student experience, while providing students from different grades with an opportunity to get to know one another. There are eight twinned Junior and Senior clans. Students moving from the Junior School to the Senior and Middle School will automatically be placed in the corresponding sister clan. Students new to Branksome Hall will randomly be placed in a clan.

Clan placement is also determined by a sibling’s or a related alumnae’s clan.

Each Senior School and Middle School clan has a Senior Chieftain and a Grade 8 representative, elected by its members.

Advisor groups are composed of students in the same grade and clan, encouraging friendships to develop. Clan meetings occur  during Community time throughout the year. Intramurals are held at various times in the eight-day cycle.
