Volleyball:

Come out and play volleyball with Coach Spangenberg! Camp will focus on skill development and gameplay.  Experience isn't necessary!

Need the following for camp: a snack, knee pads, a water bottle, and a positive attitude!

Hispanic Culture Camp:

Through this camp, we’ll explore and learn about different aspects of Hispanic culture and traditions. We’ll make crafts, learn songs, and read stories. This will also be a great opportunity to keep developing Spanish language skills!

Makey Makey

Makey Makey is a stem kit that brings engineering and coding concepts to life in exciting new ways. Campers will build paper circuits to explore how circuits work, then test items for conductivity so campers can design the ultimate DIY game controller! Design and create their own musical instruments out of recyclables and everyday stuff!

Cubelets Camp:

You can build all sorts of things with blocks. Our world is made of blocks. Wood and brick blocks from our homes. Inside, glass blocks filled with code blocks bend light into blocks of letters that shape our perspectives. And now – robot blocks can help you build better thinkers. The experiences we create for students shape them and  Cubelets are designed to help students build cognitive skills.

Gardening Camp

Calling all rising 1st-3rd graders! Have you ever wanted to be a gardener? Learn how to take care of beautiful flowers or succulents? Then this is the camp for you! At our gardening camp, you will have the opportunity to learn how to be a beginning gardener. We will read stories, do crafts, and work together to create our own potted plants.

Sphero:

Summer FUN with Sphero! Keep the learning going with engaging activities that will get kids excited for learning—even after the school year ends! Campers with the Sphero Summer Camp will engage in increasingly complex challenges that flex their critical thinking, creative confidence, teamwork, and coding skills.

Micro: bit:

During this hands-on summer camp, your child will be programming their very own

microcomputer! The Micro: bit is a tiny programmable computer designed to make learning easy and fun that uses block-based coding to do many awesome things. Campers can program their microcomputer to do everything from blink to turn it into a musical instrument and make a game. This is great exposure to programming in a new and fun way.

Cheerleading

Learn all about the ins and outs, ups and downs, and the all-around fun of Cheerleading! This camp will introduce or refine the skills necessary for your camper to be the best they can be! Please have your camper come with sneakers, PE clothing, and a water bottle.

It is going to be... A - W -  E - S -  O -  M -  E!!

Crafting with Recycled Materials:

Egg cartons, cereal boxes, and two-liter bottles usually just end up in the trash or recycling bin. During our craft camp, we'll take these everyday objects (and more) and repurpose them into works of art. We’ll turn trash into treasure during a week filled with creativity and fun!

Bring a water bottle, a snack, and a smock or apron.

Dance Camp

Summer Dance Camp directed by CGHS dance educator, Erica Seninsky! Campers will learn skills in ballet, jazz, musical theater, and creative movement. Summer-themed crafts and dance games will spark your child's creativity throughout the week. This camp is open to rising 1st-3rd graders. 15 spots are available! Come join the fun and dance with us this summer

SRCS Band Camp:

 

Do you like music? Would you like to learn how to play an instrument? The SRCS band camp provides instruction on flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone to students in grades 1-8.  Taught by Mr. Hawks, the Orchestra teacher at Cardinal Gibbons, this is a camp for students of all levels of musical training, even those with no experience at all!  Method books are provided and some instruments are available for use depending on availability.

 *Students must supply their own instruments; however, a limited number are available to borrow. Please contact Andrew Hawks at ahawks@cghsnc.org to see if an instrument is available for your camper. Other local instrument rental options are available at Music & Arts.

Get hands-on experience with arduino microcontrollers in this exciting engineering class! Learn how to build circuits, control motors, write code, and program an arduino.

Come play soccer! No experience is required.  We'll learn drills, strategies, and scrimmage! Bring your cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle.
