ZEMA’s primary goal is to be able to provide reliable, consistent, and readily available medical care to the survivors throughout South Zagoria. ZEMA is a non-affiliated association of medics and medical support teams with this goal in mind.

Requesting Medical Assistance

ZEMA Discord

The BEST way to request medical assistance is through the ZEMA Discord server. Simply join the #Need_Medical_Assistance channel and write a short message requesting help. ZEMA personnel should be able to respond quickly, whether they are online or not.

ZEMA Sub-Reddit

The other way is to make a post on the /r/ZEMA subreddit. This is good for when ZEMA associates aren’t online, or available. Simply make a text post with the following information.

1. Your in game name.
2. What medical attention you need
3. General region or nearest large city

A ZEMA associate will respond to your post, to schedule a time to provide you assistance.

6 Pillars of Duty

The six branches of the ZEMA logo are symbols of the six main tasks executed by rescuers all through the emergency chain.

1. Detection: The first rescuers on the scene, usually untrained civilians or those involved in the incident, observe the scene, understand the problem, identify the dangers to themselves and the others, and take appropriate measures to ensure their safety on the scene (environmental, infected, hostile threats, etc...).
2. Reporting: The call for professional help is made and dispatch is connected with the victims, providing emergency medical dispatch.
3. Response: The first rescuers provide first aid and immediate care to the extent of their capabilities.
4. On scene care: ZEMA personnel arrive and provide immediate care to the extent of their capabilities on-scene.
5. Care in transit: ZEMA personnel proceed to transfer the patient to a care facility or destination of choice via escort or ambulance. They provide medical care during the transportation.
6. Transfer to definitive care: Appropriate specialized care is provided at a secure location or facility to ensure full patient recovery.

ZEMA is a neutral group, and strives to upload the following tenets during the course of our operations. These standards help foster trust between ZEMA and the survivors of South Zagoria. We want survivors to feel confident and safe when they request help. All the the following members and associates of proven to be trustworthy and honorable in their execution of ZEMA duties.

ZEMA Tenets

• We will not take aggressive action against our fellow survivors, except to defend against direct hostiles while performing our duties.
• During a combat scenario, when acting as a combat medic emergency response team, we will not actively join in combat, but will stand ready to help all those seeking medical aid during the course of battle.
• We will answer the call for aid, to the best of our ability.
• We will offer medical gear, food and survival equipment to those who request it, and ask for nothing in return.

Trusted Associates

Trusted Associates represents individuals who have not decided to become full ZEMA members but are trusted and officially sanctioned by ZEMA to respond to calls in our name. Every associate on this list, has been properly vetted to treat patients and respond to calls for aid through ZEMA channels.

Joining ZEMA

ZEMA strives to have a persistent and reliable team that is ready to respond day or night; in order to do that, we need to grow our team.

ZEMA is currently Recruiting

We are always looking for survivors interested in joining the ranks of Zagoria’s most trusted medical personnel. A medical team usually consists of a licensed medic andat least one security team member, and we are always looking for more of each. Whether as a full member, or a trusted associate, ZEMA wants you.

Neutrality and non-exclusivity

ZEMA is a neutral group that does not require exclusivity in its members. If you are part of another group or faction, you can still join ZEMA either as a member or a trusted associate. Though being a member entails certain obligations regarding readiness and availability that an trusted associate on the does not have, both strive for the same ethical and medical values. Individuals that seek membership, but belong to other groups or factions, should be aware of these obligations and make sure they do not collide with other commitments.

ZEMA Roles and Certifications

Medic

Medics should be easily identifiable and distinguishable in the field. While performing their duties medics must wear some sort of medical gear: preferably at least a blue paramedic jacket. Other recommended gear include, press vest, scrubs, lab coat, other medical uniforms, blue or white pants, white helmet, and the large mountain backpack for medical supplies.

EMS - Emergency Medical Specialist

These medics are the heart and soul of ZEMA. Their primary responsibility is to respond to emergency calls and provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured. After receiving a call, the medic and his team travels to the location given, using the most expeditious route. The medic then uses all assets and skills at his disposal to ensure the immediate and continued health of the patient.

• Administering IV treatment
• Extrication of patients from dangerous situations
• Provide ongoing patient care and treatment of illness

68W - Combat Medic

Affectionately called a “Whiskey,” the combat medic specialist is a specialized EMS role primarily responsible for providing emergency medical treatment at point of wounding on the battlefield, limited primary care, and health protection and evacuation from a point of injury or illness.

Job Duties

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties
• Assist with ongoing patient care and treatment
• Manage Soldier's medical readiness, medical supplies and equipment

Helpful Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively and work under stressful conditions
• High attention to detail

Security

The highest ranking security team member in any given operation is temporarily given the title PSO or Personnel Security Officer. The PSO has operational authority during the course of the team’s activities.

PSE - Personnel Security Escort

The goal of the PSE is to protect the principal from all hazards. This includes hazards caused by assault, accident, or negligence. Absolute protection is never possible, thus the objective of a PSE detail must be to operate in a manner that minimizes the likelihood of an attack and its chances of success.

Job Duties

• Leading small medical response units.
• Escorting personnel to and from a field locations.
• Area security operations (site security and response)
• Perform navigation during operations.

MOS - Medical Overwatch Scout

Commonly referred to as a “Mossy.” The scout is a specialized security role, responsible for being the eyes and ears of the team during battle. They engage potential threats in the field, after tracking and reporting their activity from a safe distance.

• Reconnaissance and Surveillance
• Report information on terrain and environmental hazards
• Collect data to determine routes and hazards.
