Cleanse and Streamline Gmail!

 Labels and Filters

To apply a label to single email, first select the email using the checkbox. Next,

access the tag menu  by clicking the tag button underneath the search bar.  From there, check as many labels as you wish to apply.  You can also create a new label from this menu.

To access the filter menu, click the More button.  From here, click create filter.

Many text fields now appear.

From: Sort by name or email address          To: Sort by email sent to a person or address

Subject: Sort only by text in the subject line        Has the words: Sort by all text

Doesn’t have: Sort by text that is not present        Create filter with this search: Make the Filter

The Magnifying Glass will test the Filter.  If clicked, repeat the process to make the filter.

Once made, select each of the actions you wish to take by clicking the checkboxes, then the blue create filter button!

Try it out to: sort assignments from devices not needing a link to a specific email domain, move club or department emails into easy to access places, use the phrase "posted scheduled assignment" to filter scheduled Google Classroom posts, and MORE!
