CODE OF CONDUCT FOR BLAZING SWAN INCORPORATED
INTRODUCTION
Blazing Swan, Incorporated (“BSI”) is committed to the following five core values; fairness, honesty, respect, care and integrity in the pursuance of our ‘Objects of Association’ to:
(a) organise, develop and promote:
(i) an annual arts, music, and cultural event which is inclusive, accepting, and safe;
(ii) other related events promoting self-expression, identity and understanding;
(b) foster and create new art projects in Western Australia;
(c) develop and support workshops and training activities;
(d) support and develop community based fundraising events to further the Association’s objects;
(d) train volunteers to facilitate the Association’s objects; and
(e) conduct the Association’s activities in an environmentally sustainable manner.

SCOPE OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code applies to Blazing Swan Committee Members, Blazing Swan Association Members, and Blazing Swan Volunteers.
APPLICATION OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT
- Contribute to the resolution of workplace issues and disagreements in a prompt, fair and impartial manner. Do not spread gossip or rumours, or shame or bully people.
- Take responsibility for your own safety at work and the safety of others. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Ensure you are fit for work and never operate vehicles or use equipment while affected by drugs or alcohol.
- Do not engage in any non-consensual, aggressive, violent or threatening behaviour at work. If you observe such behaviour, speak-up.
- Clean-up after yourself at work and leave places in a better state than you found them.
- Protect Blazing Swan property and the belongings of others from theft and misuse.
- Avoid doing anything that would impact adversely on Blazing Swan’s operations or reputation.
- Safeguard confidential information held by Blazing Swan Incorporated.
- Do not speak on behalf of Blazing Swan Incorporated unless you are authorised to do so.
- Report any actual or potential conflicts of interest to the Committee immediately.
HANDLING BREACHES OF THIS CODE OF CONDUCT
Breaches of this Code of Conduct may ultimately lead to the cessation of Association Membership, or disengagement as a Volunteer with Blazing Swan. The Blazing Swan Committee will follow its Constitution and principles of natural justice in investigating any such cases and reaching a decision on them.
