Get souls from Quest Mode
- Quest Mode is your best friend. The best strategy to get the most souls per day is to do three 1-hour Quests and keep repeating them all day long. In the Outworld, the best 1-hour quests yield 9 souls each (Netherrealm Quests can drop a range of Souls - from 10-14 Souls per each 1-hour quest), leading to a total of 405-432 souls depending on how many times you are repeating them in a single day; A TOTAL of 1,008 Souls can be earned per day by completing three 1-hour Quests per hour throughout the day (3 Quests yielding 14 Souls multiplied by 3 quest slots = 42 Souls multiplied by 24 Hours = 1,008 Total Souls PER DAY) - When you are about to head to bed and call it a night, make sure to embark on three 8-hour quests and collect their rewards after waking up the following morning. The only thing you must remember is not to buy speed elixirs or potions to potentiate rewards, speeding up a quest will lead to a disadvantage - and potential loss in the long run as you are receiving a low soul amount for spending a high amount just to get it over with faster when it can be utilized to your advantage where you can enact a 8, 12, or 24-hour quest while you are asleep or busy with your life - let the quests end in time and form, this way, there will always be earnings that live up to your expectations without any further inputs. To make it easier on the player, the ability to jump right back into Quests is at your command as soon as your characters return from their timed-specific quests. The Renown Bar in Red offers a BONUS amount of Souls & Koins each time the bar reaches 100%.
Are diamond packs worth it?
- Please remember - most paid packs usually don’t drop the exact character you may desire, but a random one, (The Chance of getting a card you desire is based on a probability, which is based on RNG) - thus leading to a waste of real money when you’re expecting a specific card to be dropped. In fact - there can be special offers / discounts on regular Diamond packs where their price is reduced by 50% to make the packs cheaper. The Dark Fate Terminator Diamond Pack is the diamond pack with the best rate price/diamond probability up to the date. It has a 4% probability to get Diamond Dark Fate Terminator and 10% chance of getting a random Diamond (including the exclusive Faction War Character - such as Injustice 2 Raiden, Klassic Reptile or MK11 Diamond Kharacters, etc.)
- With the best offers for Packs in mind, it is advised to save souls and spend them only on discounted packs. There are key dates such as - The Mortal Kombat Mobile anniversary, Black Friday, Christmas, and especially Halloween, where rare packs such as Nightmare Diamond Pack or Day of the Dead Diamond Pack are guaranteed to appear.
Buying packs with real money
- Several of these paid packs are most certainly not worth wasting your resources on as it will prove to be a poor choice based on the amount of resources you have that will be going to waste, because the content that most of these packs offer ARE NOT worth investing your money within to expect to get anything you desire out of it - Few cases like that is the Level Up Pack, consisting in 20 Level Up cards for $10; investing in this pack is pointless since character packs for souls yield a vast amount of Level Up cards.
- Another good example is the Challenge Event Starter Pack - which drops a guaranteed Gold character for $5; within the game, there are multiple opportunities and ways to unlock any certain Gold: Normal / Hard / Elder Challenges, Faction Wars’ Blood Ruby Packs, Challenge Packs, Diamond Packs, Reward Drops from Event Towers, Gold Cards that usually rotate on an hourly basis in the store - 3 cards per basis, and (by doing Quests 1 & ½ per day, you can buy them directly.)
- The Soul Starter Pack is another bad investment of real money. It drops 600 souls for $10, whereas you can easily run quests for two days and obtain ~200 Souls and beyond.
- The Starter Bundles don’t even include souls within the offer, only koins, Equipment cards, Level Up Cards, and one Gold character. By running quests for only a day, any player can buy at least two Gold Packs in which the results are doubled in comparison to the Bundles listed. There is a special case, the Silver Starter Bundle. It drops one Silver Kenshi character, 20,000 coins, 90 souls and 1 level up card. This definitely is not worth it since one Silver Pack doesn’t even cost souls and can drop a Silver character and an equipment which is better than a Level Up Card. Also, a particular Silver character on the store costs 55,000 coins (again, not souls). Since getting coins is way easier and faster than getting souls, this Starter Bundle is definitely not worth it.
- The Champion Packs guarantee a Diamond character, but not a specific one. They have a chance of 30% to drop a diamond of the specific team it says, but still it has no solid results. When expecting a particular character but getting a sellback for a FX card (for example) will result in a loss of real money in vain. It’s safer to open Diamond Packs for souls so in cases where you get a sellback, what you are losing is an in-game currency and not money you earned in real life.
- As of now, The Level Up Packs & The Assassins Champion Pack are the most popular items in the Special Offers category in the store - let’s take a look at the key aspects that should be kept in mind when considering investing your profit within Special Offers:
- The Level Up Cards Pack contains 20 Level Up Cards for the price of $9.99 that can be bought at a maximum of 5 times. ($9.99 X 5 Packs = $49.95 Total For All 5 Packs) - To summarize the point, you’d be spending $50 for 100 Level Up Cards. If we were to take into account the amount of the time that would be necessary to raise the XP of your characters via Faction Wars, Quests, Battle Mode, Challenges, Towers, Etc. - you can make the general realization of not deeming the Level Up Cards Pack to be a beneficial investment to the progression of your Kollection. Basically, your Cards can easily be raised to the average of Lvl 20 just by playing Faction Wars for an average of an hour per day. It most certainly isn’t in your best interest to spend $50 for 100 Level Up Cards, in the long run - that would prove to be an invaluable asset to your kollection as it’s a Limited Time Offer, and you can raise a maximum of five cards to Level 20 - which would have easily been done by playing with different teams in Faction Wars for an hour per day. As for this pack having a purchase limit and being a Limited Time Offer, I’d rather suggest to spend the $50 on a console game for Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation as it’s not a limited time offer, has more value put into making it a worthwhile purchase and, the consumer would enjoy it as Console Gaming in general has a longer lasting effect on the Gamer then Mobile Games - in which progression cannot be made to the point of which you have to grind for a consecutive timeframe, and invest money.
- The Champions Assassin Pack is the 2nd most popular item in the Store as of now; and although this pack may sound appealing to the general audience of the player base as it guarantees a random Diamond character, one random Assassin Equipment card, and 10 Level Up Cards at the price of $19.99, I can assure you that is most certainly a waste of investment. Keep in mind about the key aspects that were mentioned earlier when considering investing in a Character Exclusive Pack: The Drop Rates, Cost Of The Pack, Community Reception Of The Pack, & Pack Offerings. However - this pack in particular offers the following characters with their drop rates included: Diamond Assassin Skarlet (10% Drop Rate) | Diamond Assassin Jade (10% Drop Rate) | Diamond Assassin Kitana (10% Drop Rate) | Diamond Character Kard (70% Drop Rate) -- Even though a random Diamond character is guaranteed at the cost of only $20, what should be taken into account is the probability of you getting a Diamond Card that you haven’t maxed out already, or a Diamond Card that you will never end up utilizing in-battle. (or don’t generally prefer; not the card you wanted) In Conclusion, The #1 Factor that should be taken into account when considering investing within these Exclusive Diamond Kard Packs is the probability of whether you will obtain the character that you desire - or not, based on the Drop Rates of each and the reception of those who have already opened the packs.
- The Growth Packs are your #1 source of in-game currency (Souls & Koins) in Mortal Kombat Mobile that can be invested on with actual money. It is highly recommended for newer players, and intermediate players to acquire these Growth Packs if they haven’t already - as Growth Packs award Souls and Koins when you reach specific milestones on your Mortal Kombat Mobile profile. These special packs can be purchased from the store. Upon reaching these milestones, your rewards will be automatically added to your balance. It has proved from time to time to be a valuable asset in terms of account progression, unlocking characters, upgrading / fusing characters, and unlocking Equipment cards. The Growth Packs can only be purchased ONCE, however - it serves as an investment that is irrefusable at a certain point. Growth Packs come in three tiers - Growth Pack 1 is available from Level 1, and grant rewards up to Level 10. Growth Pack 2 is available from level 11, and grant rewards up to level 20. Growth Pack 3 is available from level 21, and grant rewards up to level 30.
- (Grand Total Of The Soul Amounts From ALL Growth Packs: 1,140 + 2,750 + 3,950 + 4,500 + 5,400 + 6,300 + 7,200 + 8,100 + 9,000 = 48,340 Total Souls)
- (Growth Pack Prices [USD Currency] $9.99 + $19.99 + $29.99 multiplied by 7 Growth Packs = The Grand Total Of All Growth Packs - $239.91)
- If you don’t have money to buy those Growth Packs, you can do quests during 4 months (following the accepted strategy of 1h quests daily): 48,340 (total of clamable souls from the packs) / ~400 (average amount of souls per day obtained from quests) = ~121 days to get as many souls as the Growth Packs have to offer. Perhaps - farming Quests over the duration of 4 months to obtain 48,340 Souls would be a better opportunity for Free-To-Players as you wouldn’t have to worry about grinding to get your Account’s XP To Lvl 60. (Growth Pack Rewards are awarded based on Account XP Progression)
Drop rates of the packs
- Special Offers & Kard Packs in the Store should be a last resort as they would prove to be an invaluable asset - basically, they aren’t worth spending your resources and investing actual money on. Drop Rates, Soul Costs, Availability Durations, & Purchase Limits are ALL taken into account when considering to open Kard Packs for Exclusive Diamonds that seem appealing, and Special Offers for a Limited-Time that offer a Character Card, Level Up Cards, Random Equipment Cards, Etc. - As of now, The Black Dragon Diamond Pack is the most popular Kard Pack in the store. Although, there are a couple key aspects that should be kept in mind regarding these packs:
- The Drop Rates for the Exclusive Diamonds are at a maximum of 3-4% as compared to the imbalanced ratio of the 94% Drop Rate for a Gold Challenge Character.
- Uncommon Equipment Cards are at a maximum of a 25% chance to drop as compared to the 25% chance of a Support Card, and an imbalanced ratio of a 50% chance of a Gold Upgrade Special 2 Attack Card.
- 3 Level Up Cards are guaranteed with each pack that is bought with 400 Souls.
- The MAJORITY of Kard Packs that’re rotated in the Store in advance to Update 2.0 contain a 3-4% drop rate for the Exclusive Diamond - Gold Challenge Characters are usually at a drop rate of 90-94% for a price of 400-450 Souls. It is most certainly not recommended to invest in these Kard Packs as it’s considered gambling and would prove to be a loss in resources that were wasted in an effort to pull a character from the pack that you’ve already maxed out. Speaking of which, the factor that determines what you obtain in each Kard Pack is based on RNG (Random Number Generator) as the probabilities and outcomes to receive any character is randomized. Sell-Back Values are also not equivalent to the amount of values spent unlocking them - For Example, if you were to pull a Kold War Sub-Zero from a Diamond Pack, and you already had maxed out the Sub-Zero (Fusion X) - the sell-back value would be a bare maximum of 54-60 Souls, and 20,000+ Koins. Based on this calculation, it should be more than enough to convince a player NOT to waste their resources on these Kard Packs, as you’re supporting the act of gambling. It is in your best interest, to hoard the resources you obtain as it is unknown to us whenever we’d direly need them for future implementations within the game. (e.g. Refreshing Lin Kuei Tower)
Getting souls from Challenges
- Another alternative method to earn a high amount of Souls are from farming Challenges. First off - Let’s take into consideration the amount of total Souls that can be earned from completing the Normal Difficulty of the Challenge; Tower III & V (3 and 5) offer Souls as the tower completion drop, however - Towers IV & V have soul drops throughout the progression of your tower placement as well. For each of these three Towers, Soul Drops are rewarded TWICE at Battle #3 for a drop of 5 Souls, and Battle #9 for a drop of 10 Souls. The incremental value of soul drops on Normal Difficulty Challenges is +5. In conclusion, a total of 15 Souls are rewarded on each of the three Towers listed. Now, let’s do the calculations - (15 Souls X 2 Towers = 30 Souls) -- Next, we’ll be taking into account the final Soul drops that are awarded on the completion of Towers III & V. From these two Towers, the total amount of souls rewarded add up to 85 Souls. (50 Souls from Tower V & 35 Souls from Tower III) Now - let’s do the calculations -- (30 Souls from mini soul drops + 85 Soul Completion Reward = Grand Total Of 115 Souls) | 115 Souls are rewarded by completing a Normal Challenge; excluding the sell-back values that’re also rewarded based on if the challenge character is already at Fusion X. We will now take into account the amount of Souls earned via Hard Difficulty Challenges -- Just like Normal Challenges, Souls are dropped at their relative locations. However - the change is in the incremental values of these Souls. On each of the three Towers that were listed, 7 Souls are awarded on Battle #4 & 13 Souls are rewarded on Battle #8. The incremental value of Souls earned in comparison from Normal difficulty to Hard difficulty is by +5. Now, let’s do another calculation -- (20 Souls X 2 Towers = Grand Total Of 40 mini-soul drops) | Next, we’ll take into account the Souls that are to be earned as completion rewards for Towers III & V; Tower III offers 46 Souls as a completion reward, and Tower V offers 65 Souls in accordance with their completion. To summarize the point of informing you about the amount of souls that can be obtained from these Towers - a total of 171 Souls can be obtained from the Hard Difficulty of Challenges. (40 Mini-Soul Drops + 111 Soul Completion Reward = Grand Total Of 151 Souls) --- Elder Challenges DO NOT reward Mini-Soul Drops; however, a total of 200 Souls can be rewarded from Elder Challenges as Tower Completion Rewards. In total, the maximum amount of Souls that can be obtained from playing all three challenge difficulties (Including sell-back values) equals 520 Souls --- (115 Souls + 151 Souls + 200 Souls + 54 Souls via Sellback price = Grand Total Of 520 Souls) Please notice, Challenges do not always come in 3 difficulties - some challenges progress from Normal > Hard, and some only have the Elder Difficulty. Challenges refresh every Thursday @ 12PM EST.
Conclusion
- There are major factors that you need to focus on in order to grow in Mortal Kombat Mobile, this is excluding the investment of actual money. First off --- Time is the #1 Factor ANY player should invest within the game if they’d like to grow at a rapid pace. Grinding Faction Wars, playing Challenges, completing Battle Mode, Farming Towers, Etc. all require investing a staple amount of time. On average, most professional players give at most, 1-4 Hours of their time to the game throughout the day. Without putting in any time in the game means you aren’t willing to grow, which means you aren’t putting in forth the effort necessary. Next - Devotion/Effort is another key factor in “getting good” at the game. The amount of effort you put in the game on a daily basis, regardless if you’re a newbie defines the level of interest and devotion you have for Mortal Kombat, if you were to put in all your effort and devotion into playing the game and set goals for characters you’d like to unlock, you will succeed that goal since you’d be willing to gain the knowledge regarding the most efficient / fastest opportunities to unlock the best characters in the game; (e.g. - MK11 Scorpion, Klassic Liu Kang) Without the knowledge of anything to help you achieve your goals in the game, you will not be able to move forward with your Account’s Progression. It is vital to ask questions, referencing to insightful MK Mobile videos (Pack Opening Videos are extremely useful in making decisions on opening the latest packs in the Store), referring to guides that’re created to help you earn resources, vital characters, and how to progress with ease in an efficient manner, and you also can engage with the MK Mobile Community at anytime you’d like, we’re here for ya. The majority of the MK Mobile Community includes Veteran Players who have been non-stop grinding the game on a daily basis for five years now. We have the general knowledge to answer ANY of your Questions, Koncerns, Thoughts, and Decisions.
