“It’s not about being the best writer, it’s about being a writer that can say ‘I did my best’.”

A writing community that aims to improve the writing skills of its members and help them become authors of their own novels, screenplays, poems, short stories, and many more.

Our community works in a review based system. Members share their works so that they may receive critiques that extend to emotional impact, grammar checks, writing mechanics, character development, and many more.

As a member of the organization, you are privileged to receive these critiques but are also responsible to give critiques to other members too.

Through the works and critiques posted in our group, members have writing resources available to help inspire them to write and to help improve their writing skills. Also included are writing tips and blog posts can also serve as learning materials for our members.

Writing is an incredible experience when a community is there to help you. Experiencing writer’s block? No problem, you can ask the community for help. Unsure of your grammar? Don’t be afraid to ask other members.

By interacting with members of the community, writers can forward their writing aspirations and forge friendships that extend beyond exchanging works and critiques amongst themselves.

Writers guilds are subdivisions of the organization that consist of four or five guild members and a guild leader. The main purpose of these guilds is to provide a workshop venue for the members of the organization. This allows for face-to-face interactions among members that include sharing critiques and other activities that strengthen the writing skills of every member and their bond among each other.

“There’s a difference between a person who’s hobby is writing and person who aspires to be a writer.”

Word Attack is incredibly reliant on member participation and without it, the organization cannot operate well. While you are not required to post works in our community, we still encourage you to participate by either posting works and reviewing the works of others as consistently inactive members will be removed from the group.

The best way to participate in the community is by setting a long term goal. This will be your drive and motivation to write and share works in our group. Do you want to write a novel? A series of short stories? A compilation of poems?

Setting goals like these encourage you to write and forces you out of the habit of writing only because you feel like it. If you are an absolute beginner and haven’t the slightest clue of what you’re going to write, seek help from the officers. They will help you come up with your long term goal. In a sense, you’ll get into writing by pursuing these goals.

So as a member of the community, ask yourself: What is my long term goal?

“We have to admit, sometimes, readers certainly outdo the writers in interpreting and shaping their own works.”

Profile hashtags help filter posts from specific members of the organization. These hashtags may consist of the name of the poster or the pen name of the poster. To view the activity of a specific member, one may simply type the profile hashtag of that member in the “Search Facebook” bar at the upper left corner of the Facebook user interface.

.

Profile hashtags are found at the user’s profile. The general format of a profile hashtag is:

#(hashtag) + WA + The name or pen name of choice. No spaces. Here are some examples that you may use:

#WAJoannaMaeRSibal

#WATheCoastOfFlowers

#WACiaraTheBlueZebra

Profile hashtags are not the same as names or pen names. Thus, profile hashtags do not have to be exactly like the name or pen name of the member and may be modified slightly. However, they have to be substantially similar. This allows for users to have as unique profile hashtags as possible. Here are some examples of profile hashtag modifications that are acceptable:

Name: Alexis Bondad

Pen Name: Pyrotrix

Possible hashtag names: #WAPyrotrix27, #WAAlexisPyrotrix, #WAPyrotriks,

Not acceptable hashtag names: #WATheValiantWarrior, #WAAlexa, #Wonder

IMPORTANT:

No one is allowed to have more than one profile hashtag, and no one is allowed to use the profile hashtags of other members

It is highly encouraged that profile hashtags be made as unique as possible to prevent overlap from profile hashtags of other members.

Profile hashtags require special permission from an officer to be changed.

“The subjects or our works are a reflection of the media we have been exposed to.”

Most posts require a subject or title and all those that require subjects also require subject hashtags. Subject are, quite literally, the main topic of a post. Subject hashtags, on the other hand, are the same as the subjects only prefixed with a hashtags. The only exception to this are review requests as their subject hashtags are based off of the name of the uploaded document. Here’s an example of a subject and a subject hashtag being used together in a post:

Below is a chart representing the organizational structure (Note that the positions of the officers do not denote hierarchy):

To be part of the Ministry of Executives, one must first have been an active member of the Ministry of Councils.

The Ministry of Councils has no limits on the number of members--and in certain cases, non members--who wish. An officer of this ministry may become part of multiple councils as long as it is within the capacity of said officer. An executive minister may also be part of this council but only under limited circumstances. The functions of the officers of this ministry are as follows:

There are no restrictions to becoming part of these councils apart from consistent participation in the organization. One may join at any time upon permission from the respective council supervisors.
