MESSAGE FROM BAA HEADMASTER, MS. CLARK

Given the important news we received this week, I wanted to make sure everyone saw this message:

I am excited to announce that the Massachusetts School Building Authority and the City of Boston formally approved the plan to construct a new building for Boston Arts Academy at 174 Ipswich Street.

This has been a process many years in the making--the entire life of the school, in fact. Boston Arts Academy and its students will finally be getting the home they deserve, one that will allow for greater development of our Artist-Scholar-Citizens.

We are committed to maintaining the quality of the Boston Arts Academy experience next year, as we move to the Cleveland building in Dorchester while the new building is constructed. We will be working with the Boston Public Schools and the Community Academy of Science and Health High School, with whom we will be sharing a facility, to make sure that this transition is successful for all students and families.

Regular community meetings to provide updates will be scheduled after the holiday break. Two meetings have been scheduled and more will follow. The two dates are 1/17 from 6-8pm and 2/7 from 6-8pm.

I want to personally thank all of the students and families--past and present--who have worked tirelessly to help us achieve this goal. I have always been proud of the strength of our community, and although change is challenging for all of us, I know we will face this challenge like we face all challenges: together, and with our shared values as our guide.

I wish everyone a restful, restorative holiday break. We have a great deal to look forward to in the new year!
